we use the formula

amount = p(1+r/100) (1+q/100)

here, r = rate for 1 year

and  q=rate for 2nd year

A/q

amount =p(1+r/100) (1+q/100)

4452= p ( 1 + 6/100) (1+5/100)

4452= p (106/100) (105/100)

4452= 11130p/10000

4452*10000=11130p

44520000 =11130p

44520000/11130=p

4000=p

p=4000

so ,the principal is 4000
