Answer:

No penalty

Explanation:

The tax penalty is as follows

The HSA i.e. health saving account. It is opened so that the expenses related to the medical could be paid and the high health plan i.e. deductible  (HDHP) would not covered here

In the case when rules are not followed so there is a penalty of 20%

Given that the amount taxable is $15,000

So here the penalty would be

= $15,000 × 20%

= $3,000

But since Marilyn age is 66 so there is no penalty as the penalty would be applied till the age of 65

Which is the shortest and simplest tax form?
AfilCa [17]

Filling out a tax form is about as much fun as owing taxes to Uncle Sam. The complexity of the task intensifies as your tax life becomes more complicated.

That's why you should use the simplest tax return form you can, especially if you're still filling out your forms by hand.

But choose carefully. There are three personal income tax forms -- 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ -- with each designed to get the appropriate amount of your money to the IRS. Differences in the forms, however, could cost you if you're not paying attention.

The EZ is the shortest and simplest form, Form 1040A is a bit more complex and the long Form 1040 is the most detailed and potentially difficult. But even if your tax life is simple and straightforward, it might be worthwhile to investigate the other two forms. Why? Generally, the longer the form, the more opportunities for tax breaks.

If the monthly income of the IBM employees follows a SYMMETRICAL NORMAL distribution, with a median of $5000 and a standard devi
AURORKA [14]

Answer:  mean monthly income = $5000

====================================================

Explanation

In any normal distribution, the median and mean are the same value.

-------------

The proof is as follows:

If mean > median was the case, then the distribution would be skewed to the right (ie positively skewed). The right tail is pulled longer than the left tail. But this would contradict the symmetrical nature of the normal distribution. So mean > median must not be the case.

If mean < median, then the distribution would be skewed to the left (negatively skewed). Visually this pulls the left tail longer than the right tail. Like in the previous paragraph, this contradicts the symmetrical nature of the normal distribution. So mean < median must not be the case.

Since mean > median cannot be true, and neither can mean < median, this must indicate mean = median.

-------------

So in short, any symmetrical distribution always has mean = median and they are at the very center of the distribution.

Zane's Vanes is a service that restores old weather vanes. Zane has just spent $125 purchasing a 1920s-era weather vane which
VladimirAG [237]

Answer:

The marginal benefit from selling the vane without restoring it is $200.

Explanation:

Marginal benefits are the extra income a company can get from selling one additional unit of production.

Zane had already spent $250 in purchasing the vane and the restoration process.

Zane has two options:

  1. Sell the vane as it is for $200.
  2. Keep restoring the vane, spend $200 more and sell the vane for $500.

If Zane decides to sell the vane as it is, his marginal benefit will be $200. That would not be enough to cover his costs, this transaction will result in a $50 loss.

If Zane decides to continue the restoration, then his marginal costs will be $200 extra, but his marginal benefit would be $500. If he chose this option he could end up earning a $50 profit.
