Can the formula F=ma be a direct variation equation? If so, which variable would have to be held constant?
ANEK [815]
Yes it can be a direct variation.  it follows the form y = kx
The only variable that cannot be held constant is F, but we can hold the mass constant and vary the acceleration OR we can hold the acceleration constant and vary the mass.  Either one would work, but the easiest would be to vary the mass and hold the acceleration constant since we are all pulled by the same action gravity

b. the equation of cost will be changed to : (1.2 x 1.15) b + 15 = 1.38b + 15

Step-by-step explanation:

a. the order processing fee changed to $ 15 and each bottle charge changed to 115%

b. the equation of cost will be changed to : (1.2 x 1.15) b + 15 = 1.38b + 15

* this equation limited to a single order with b bottles

Here is a graph that represents a quadratic function. Which equation could define this function?
hoa [83]

Answer:

  d.  y = (x +2)(x -3)

Step-by-step explanation:

When p is a zero of the function (an x-intercept), the function has (x -p) as a factor.

Here, the x-intercepts are x = -2 and x = 3. This means the factors of the function are (x -(-2)) = (x +2) and (x -3).

  y = (x +2)(x -3)

How to substitute 3x+3y=-3 and y=5x-1?
schepotkina [342]
Since y = 5x-1, we can fill it into 3x + 3y = -3. First, let's look at relating to a simpler equation. Let's say that x + y = 9 and y = 3 + 5. Now, we can fill it in to get that x + (3 + 5) = 9. Now, we know that 3+5 is 8, so x + 8 = 9. Now, x = 1. Likewise, we can do the same. For 3x + 3y = -3, all we need to do is to switch the y in 3x + 3y = -3 with 5x - 1. So it would become 3x + 3(5x - 1) = -3. Now we distribute to get 3x + 15x - 3 = -3. Now add three to both sides to get 3x + 15x = 0. Now simplify to get 18x = 0. Now we know that x = 0. Now fill x into y = 5x - 1. So y = 5(0) - 1. Now we know that y = -1.

To check fill in the answer to 3x + 3y = -3.
3(0) + 3(-1) = -3
 0 + (-3) = -3
0 - 3 = -3
-3 = -3
Now that our check is completed we now know that x is 0 and y is -1.
