Route : IM or intramuscular

Nursing actions taken (this is a guess) : gain consent
wash hands and use exam gloves.
Assemble the drug and ensure no bubbles are in the needle.
Change the needle to the proper gauge (usually 23G)
prep the area by using an alcohol wipe. Aspirate and check for any unusual signs in the patient such as anaphylactic shock, edema, fainting, etc.
Dispose of the needle in the sharps container
Inform of the carry out procedure
