Answer: 2\ \dfrac{7}{12}\ \text{hours}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Azmyne decided to study a total of 6\ \frac{1}{2}\ hours

She spent 1\ \frac{1}{4}\ hours on Friday and  2\ \frac{2}{3}\ hours on Saturday

Hours spent on Friday

\Rightarrow 1\ \frac{1}{4}=\frac{5}{4}\ hours

Hours spent on Saturday

\Rightarrow 2\ \frac{2}{3}=\frac{8}{3}\ hours

She must study for

\Rightarrow \dfrac{13}{2}-\dfrac{5}{4}-\dfrac{8}{3}\\\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{13\times6-5\times3-8\times4}{12}=\dfrac{78-15-32}{12}\\\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{31}{12}=2\ \frac{7}{12}\ \text{hours}

The sum of two numbers is twice their difference. the larger number is 6 more than twice the smaller. find the numbers.
soldi70 [24.7K]
Let the numbers be x and y; x being the larger number and y being the smaller.

Given,

x + y = 2* (x - y)

x + y = 2x - 2y

x = 3y

Also given,

x = 6 + 2y

3y = 6 + 2y

--- y = 6

Thus, x = 3y = 3*6 = 18.

Therefore, the numbers are 18 and 6.

if a store uses a selling price based markup of 40% and an item cost the store $300 what selling price would the store set for t
kirza4 [7]

Answer:

The selling price would be $420.

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find the mark up, we need to multiply the amount it originally costs by the percentage it is being marked up.

$300 * 40% = $120

Now that we have the mark up amount, we add it to the original cost to get the sale price.

$300 + $120 = $420

I’m pretty sure he could only make 1 rectangle with 5cm because it’s an odd number which means he couldn’t stack them on top of each other evenly like he could with the 6cm rectangles, so he’d only be able to line them up next to each other and that’s it (I hope that’s right; sorry if it’s not but it makes sense to me lol)
