Answer:

homeostasis

Explanation:

Homeostasis is a biological phenomenon in which living organisms maintain a stable internal environment irrespective of the changes in their external environment. This process is key to every other activities pertaining to the survival of an organism.

Hence, according to this question, HOMEOSTASIS is the internal process organisms undergo in order to ensure that their internal conditions stay the same even though their outside environment may change. For example, humans maintain a stable internal temperature despite cold weathers.

9) Genetic variation is the source for evolution. Without a variety of phenotypes, there would be no differential survival upon
Firlakuza [10]

The genetic variation occurs due to induced changes to the genome from environmental factors, fertilization of two haploid gametes during gamete fusion. The correct options are D and E.

What is genetic variation?

The presence of differences in gene sequences between individual organisms of a species is referred to as genetic variation. It allows for natural selection, which is one of the primary forces driving life's evolution.

The genetic variation occurs due to induced changes to the genome from environmental factors, fertilization of two haploid gametes during gamete fusion.

Thus, the correct options are D and E.

Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer:

d. Tryptophan would bind to the repressor

Explanation:

However, the repressor would not be able to bind to the operator and switch off transcription. The cell would still be making tryptophan even though it is being supplied by the medium in which it is growing. This is a waste of energy.

If there was a fungicide that killed all fungi, make a prediction on how it would affect the economy and eventually is humans
Lady bird [3.3K]
Hello!

Fungi are natural decomposers in ecosystems. They break down waste and dead organisms, and return the nutrients back into the ecosystem so more plants can receive nutrients, animals can eat those plants, and so on and so forth.

If all the fungi died out, things that decompose it will remain, and the nutrients will not return to the ecosystem. This will cause the plants to receive less nutrients, along with the animals, and as the cycle continues plants will not have enough nutrients to become a sustainable food source. If this happened, the herbivores would not have food and die out. The creatures that eat the herbivores would not have their food either. Eventually us humans will not have good food sources due to lack of nutrients.

In terms of the economy, many animals are sold in the stock market or sent to stores for humans to buy. If there was a large decrease in cattle, for example, the cattle stock would disappear and all the shares in that stock would be lost. This would make a lot of problems, and as the stock market is very complicated and large scale it would be an absolute disaster if an entire stock disappeared. It also wouldn't be JUST cattle. Wheat, corn, and crop stocks would be lost too. Other animal or livestock stocks would be lost as well. This could eventually cause the stock market to crash in a way, which would lead to the Great Depression. Just because of fungicide.

It's not like you would put down some fungicide and the stock market would crash a month later. It would be a very slow and gradual thing, which is good so we can keep things like that from happening right now!

Hope this helped!

What can you infer about the attraction between particles in a substance with a low melting point
timurjin [86]

Answer:

the forces of attraction are weak

Explanation:

Particles are held together by forces of attraction between molecules e.g., covalent, van der waals and hydrogen bonds. Such type of forces are easily denatured by slight increase in temperature. The solid nature of the compound melts to liquid form. The size of the molecule determines the amount of intermolecular forces available. Smaller molecules have fewer intermolecular forces compared to larger ones thus the melting point is low. Larger molecules have more intermolecular forces that require more energy to break.
