Answer:

(1).When the smaller rock pieces are moved by these natural forces, it is called erosion. So, if a rock is changed or broken but stays where it is, it is called weathering. If the pieces of weathered rock are moved away, it is called erosion.

(2).Mechanical weathering breaks rocks into smaller pieces without changing their composition. ... Chemical weathering breaks down rocks by forming new minerals that are stable at the Earth's surface. Water, carbon dioxide, and oxygen are important agents of chemical weathering.

(3)Hydrolysis and oxidation are similar in that both involve chemical reactions between a mineral and another material. Hydrolysis is a chemical reaction between a mineral and water. Oxidation is a chemical reaction between a mineral and oxygen. Exfoliation is the cracking of rock caused by a decrease in pressure.

(4)Exfoliation is a process in which large flat or curved sheets of rock fracture and are detached from the outcrop due to pressure release: As erosion removes the overburden from a rock that formed at high pressure deep in the Earth´s crust, it allows the rock to expand, thus resulting in cracks and fractures along sheet ...

(5)  The waves crashing into rock along the shorelines , particles of sand, shell. and other materials is the processs of of Erosion . THe last one where waves recede is Weathering .

Describe an experiment you could do to see if an earthworm prefers acidic or alkaline soil
Anon25 [30]

Answer:

Because earthworms do not like soil that is too acid, alkaline, dry, wet, hot or cold, their presence is a good indicator of soil conditions suitable for plant growth. Earthworms do not like acid soils with pH (CaCl2) less than 4.5. The addition of lime raises pH and also adds calcium.

Receptor
77julia77 [94]

The correct answers are shorter, longer, and have inverse proportionality and are used in dental radiography.

In the first case vertical angulation is what is used to control the length of any image which is being recorded and it is dictated by the holding device which directs the beam of x-ray perpendicular to both the receptor and teeth and in this case the image which is formed is shorter then the real teeth and it also occurs if the central ray is directed perpendicular to the plane of the receptor rather than to the imaginary bisector.

In the second case, the vertical angulation is flat or if it is too small the image of the teeth will be longer than the actual teeth and it often occurs due to bisecting technique.

Distortion is any kind of change that can occur in both the shape and size of the object and this is inversely proportional to the vertical angulation as when vertical angulation is not correct it creates distortion and also the steep is angulation the smaller the image will be and flat the angulation is the larger or longer the image is and in distortion which comes due to radiograph is mainly used for the teeth and the recommended angulation is +10 degree in which the central ray is directed through the contact of the teeth.

This is also called dental radiography.

What kind of authority does our elected government officials exercise?
il63 [147K]

Answer:

Depending upon the country and community in which you live, the authority exercised by elected officials is defined by formal rules and informal norms of behavior that apply in that jurisdiction. Authority is the willing compliance, almost automatic, with dictates from figures to whom we grant that authority. The formal rules limiting government officials’ authority should protect citizens from abuses of that authority but informal norms may sometimes allow elected officials to get away with actions that violate those rules or, at least, bend them to their own purposes.
