The cartoon criticizes what can be considered the "clickbait" used by the press in Gilged Age. This can be seen in the cartoon through the countless small "devils" that are coming out of the printing machine and that represent bad photos, badly written news, exaggerations and distorted information, all to attract attention and cause misinformation.
