Answer:

D. rectangles

Step-by-step explanation:

Perpendicular is when they cross but the base isn't perpendicular

Parallel is when two lines never touch, but in the base of a prism there are lines that touch

Intersecting is when two or more lines meet and cross over each other

9. What formula could be used to find the area of the image?
Scilla [17]

Answer:

9. Area of triangle= \frac{1}{2} \times base\times height

10. Base= 16 ft and Height= 15 ft.

11. 120 ft²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Base of triangle= 16 ft

           Length of leg of triangle= 17 ft.

As shown in the picture that median has bisected the triangle and forming two right angle triangle.

∴ Each base of right angle triangle= \frac{16}{2} = 8\ feet

Now, finding the height of triangle by using pythagorean theorem.

We know, h^{2} = a^{2} +b^{2}, where h is hypotenous, a is height or opposite and b is base or adjacent of triangle.

⇒ 17^{2}= a^{2} + 8^{2}

⇒289= a^{2} + 64

Subtracting both side by 64

⇒ 225= a^{2}

taking square root on both side, remember; √a²=a

⇒a= \sqrt{225} = 15

Hence, height of triangle is 15 ft.

Next, finding the area of triangle.

Formula; Area of triangle= \frac{1}{2} \times base\times height

⇒ Area of triangle= \frac{1}{2} \times 16\times 15

∴ Area of triangle= 120 ft²

The base of the prism in the diagram is rectangular, but the edges that are not parallel to the base are tilted. What is the vol
Aneli [31]

Answer:

Volume of the prism is 648cm^3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Base of the prism is rectangular in shape

Height of the prism = 6 cm

Base length of the prism= 12 cm

Base width of the prism= 9 cm

To Find:

Volume of the prism=?

Solution:

Volume of the prism ,

V= Base area of the prism x  Height of the prism

Here in the figure  base of the prism is in  Rectangular form

So the base area of the prism = area of the rectangle

We know that the area of the rectangle is = length x height

Substituting the values

Area of the Rectangle = 12 x 9

Area of the Rectangle = 108

So  the are of the base of the prism is  108cm^2

Now

Volume of the prism,

V= 108 X 6

V= 648cm^3
