Answer:

x=-4, y=2

Step-by-step explanation:

-6x-10y=4

-6x=4+10y

(4+10y)+5y=34

15y=30

y=2

-6x-10(2)=4

-6x=24

x=-4

Answer: x = -4

               y = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

From equation I

-6x + 5y = 34

-6x = 34-5y

-(-6x) = -(34-5y)

or, 6x = 5y-34

or, x = 5y-34/6

so

substituting the value in equation II

-6x-10y = 4

or, -6{(5y-34)/6} - 10y = 4

or, -(5y-34)-10y = 4

or, -5y + 34-10y = 4

or, -15y = -30

or, y = -30/(-15)

so, y = 30/15

so, y = 2

now

x = (5y-34)/6

   = (5*2-34)/6

   = (10-34)/6

     = -24/6

     = -4

chad wants to buy some books over the internet. each book costs $10.01 and has a shipping cost of $9.96 per order. if chad wants
Serga [27]
If you would like to find the inequality that shows the maximum number of books that he can buy, you can do this using the following steps:

p ... number of books

$10.01 * p + $9.96 <= $50
10.01 * p + 9.96 <= 50
10.01 * p <= 50 - 9.96
10.01 * p <= 40.04
p <= 40.04 / 10.01
p <= 4 books

The correct result would be <span>9.96 + 10.01p ≤ 50, so p ≤ 4.</span>

The middle side of a triangle is half of 3 times the length of the shortest side. The longest side is 2 centimeters longer than
USPshnik [31]

<u>Answer:</u>

The difference between the longest and shortest sides of the triangle is 4 cm.

<u>Explanation:</u>

<em>Step Number One:</em>

Let the shortest side of the triangle have a length of x.

The middle side of the triangle has a length that is half of 3 times the length of the shortest side. This can be written as 1/2*3x, which equals 3/2x.

The longest side of the triangle has a length that is 2 centimeters longer than the length of the middle side. This can be written as 3/2x + 2.

<em>Step Number Two: </em>

The perimeter of the triangle, which can be found by adding the lengths of all of the sides of the triangle, is 18 centimeters. This can be shown by the following equations:

Shortest Side + Middle Side + Longest Side = Perimeter

x + 3/2x + 3/2x + 2 = 18

4x + 2 = 18

4x = 16

x = 16/4

x = 4

<em>Step Number Three: </em>

This means that the shortest side of the triangle has a length of 4 centimeters and the longest side of the triangle has a length of 8 centimeters.

8 cm - 4 cm = 4 cm

I was wondering what is 9/2 divided by 1/2
liubo4ka [24]

Answer:

\frac{18}{2} or 9

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Set up the problem: \frac{9}{2} ÷ \frac{1}{2}

2. Replace the division sign with a multiplication sign: \frac{9}{2} × \frac{1}{2}

3. Find the reciprocal by swapping the numerator and denominator on the second fraction:  \frac{9}{2} × \frac{2}{1}

4. Multiply fractions:  \frac{9}{2} × \frac{2}{1} = \frac{18}{2} or 9
