Mathematics

There are four parts of a circle, so you have to find out the area of the circle:-

10 cm=Radius

10^{2}=100

\pi=3.14

3.14*100=314 cm^{2}

Now, find the area of the square box:-

Since half the side of the square is 10 cm, the total length of one side is 2*10 which is 20 cm.

Area=S*S

=20*20=400 cm^{2}

Now subtract the area of the box from the area of the square:-

400-314= 86 cm^{2}

That is the area of the shaded part.

explain how you can tell whether a group of ratios represents a proportional relationship. PLEASE HELP
zubka84 [21]
Ratios are proportional if they represent the same relationship. One way to see if two ratios are proportional is to write them as fractions and then reduce them. If the reduced fractions are the same, your ratios are proportional.

hope this helps :)

Calculate the area under the graph of f(x) = 1/xlnx from x = e to x = e^e
Gnom [1K]

Using integration, it is found that the area under the graph of f(x) in the desired interval is of 1 unit squared.

<h3>How is the area under a graph found?</h3>

The area under the graph of a curve f(x) between x = a and x = b is given by the following integral:

A = \int_{a}^{b} f(x) dx

In this problem, the function and the limits of integration are given by:

f(x) = \frac{1}{x\ln{x}}

a = e, b = e^e

Hence:

A = \int_{e}^{e^e} \frac{1}{x\ln{x}} dx

Using substitution:

u = \ln{x}

du = \frac{1}{x} dx

dx = x du

Hence:

\int \frac{1}{x\ln{x}} dx = \int \frac{1}{u} du = \ln{u} = \ln{\ln{x}}

Applying the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus:

A = \ln{\ln{e^e}} - \ln{\ln{e}} = \ln{e\ln{e}} = \ln{\ln{e}} = \ln{e} - \ln{1} = 1

Hence, the area under the graph of f(x) in the desired interval is of 1 unit squared.
