Answer:

-5/4

Step-by-step explanation:

C is at the point (2,3) and D is at the point (6,-2)

-2-3 = -5 which would be the top part and 6-2=4 and that's the bottom part.

I need help solving this problem with proofs if at all possible
k0ka [10]

I don't really like these algebra problems which pretend to be geometry.

The bisector makes two equal angles, so

x/2 + 17 = x - 33

50 = (1/2) x

x = 100

That means ABC = 100/2 + 17 = 67 degrees

CBD = 100 - 33 = 67 degrees, equal so that checks

We're asked for ABC which is 67 + 67 = 134 degrees

Answer: 134°

Lynda cuts a piece of wood for a project. The first cut is shown and can be represented by the equation y=1/4x-5.The secend cut
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Since the second line is parallel to the first, it will have the same slope. The y-intercept of the new line is 4 (because of the coordinates given) so the equation of Lynda's second cut is y = 1/4x + 4 which is choice C

Answer: Choice D

(a-e)/f

=======================================

Explanation:

Points D and B are at locations (e,f) and (a,0) respectively.

Find the slope of line DB to get

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m = (0-f)/(a-e)

m = -f/(a-e)

This is the slope of line DB. We want the perpendicular slope to this line. So we'll flip the fraction to get -(a-e)/f and then flip the sign from negative to positive. That leads to the final answer (a-e)/f.

Another example would be an original slope of -2/5 has a perpendicular slope of 5/2. Notice how the two slopes -2/5 and 5/2 multiply to -1. This is true of any pair of perpendicular lines where neither line is vertical.
