A Drama club has 40 members. The number of girls is 5 less then 2 times the number of boys. How many members are boys? girls?
ANEK [815]
We can write b= boys, and g= girls

we know that girls are equal g=(2*b-5)
we also know that b+g=40
we will replace girls with the above equation and get
b+ (2*b-5) = 40 , 2*b=2b
b+2b= 40+5
3b=45, divide everything by 5
b=15
girls are 2*15-5=25
15+25=40

PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE!!
Anna35 [415]

Step-by-step explanation:

in such a case, where we have all the sides and need angles, the best tool is the extended Pythagoras (for general triangles and not just for right-angled ones) :

c² = a² + b² - 2ab×cos(C)

c is the side opposite of angle C.

the side opposite of B is CA.

so, we have

220² = 100² + 160² - 2×100×160×cos(B)

48,400 = 10,000 + 25,600 - 32,000×cos(B)

12,800 = -32,000×cos(B)

cos(B) = -12,800/32,000 = -0.4

B = 113.5781785...° ≈ 114°

A wholesale dealer offers 8 lamps for a price of p dollars. Which expression represents the price of a single lamp? A. 8p B. p+8
Nostrana [21]
Find the "unit cost."  Divide the total price paid by the number of units sold:

$p
------------ = $(p/8)  / lamp
8 lamps

The unit cost is p/8 dollars per lamp.

n a large high school, 37% of the teachers believe that five minutes is not enough time for students to change classes. However,
timurjin [86]

The difference (faculty-student) in the sample proportions of those who believe that five minutes is not enough time for students to change classes typically varies about 0.096 from the true difference in proportions. Option D is correct.

<h3>What is the standard deviation?</h3>

It is a measurement of statistical data dispersion. The degree to which the value varies is known as standard deviation.

The standard deviation of the sampling distribution is found as;

\rm \sigma_F-\sigma_s= \sqrt{\frac{0.37 \times (1-0.37)}{28}+\frac{0.89 \times (1-0.89)}{100}  } \\\\  \sigma_F-\sigma_s=0.096

The difference in the sample proportions of those who think five minutes is not enough time for students to switch classrooms generally differs by roughly 0.096 from the actual difference in proportions.

Hence option D is correct.
