Explained --------A one-variable equation is an equation that has exactly one variable in it. Similarly, a one-variable inequality is an inequality that has exactly one variable in it. Setting up one-variable equations and inequalities is an extremely useful tool in mathematics.

What is the area of the figure?
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

The answer is 88 square inches. (A)

Step-by-step explanation:

The shape is broken up into 2 right triangle sand 2 rectangles.

The area of the triangle is 12. You subtract the way it is cut in half where the dashed line that sais (4 in.) so you take 7 - 4 = 3. Now that the 3 is left meaning it is the height  of the triangle. and then the bashed line that says

(8 in.) is the base of the triangle. Multiply that and it is 24 but you have to divide by 2 which gives you 12. since there are "Identical" triangles what I do is add 12 which will give you 24 again bc of both triangles combined.

As for the rectangle is both dashed lines (4 in. And 8 in.) multiply it gives you 32, again since here is another "Identical" rectangle you add 32 + 32 = 64 (Both rectangles combined)

Lastly add 64 + 24 = 88
