what is the slope and equation of a line that is perpendicular to the y-axis passing through (-5,-3)?
Illusion [34]

Answer:

Slope is m=0

y=-3

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope of any line that is perpendicular to the y-axis is zero.

The reason is that any line that is perpendicular to the y-axis is also parallel to the x-axis and the slope of the x-axis is zero.

The equation of any line perpendicular to the y-axis is and passes through (a,b) is y=b.

The given point is (-5,-3) hence the required equation is

y=-3

A regular pentagon has side lengths of 14.1 centimeters and an apothem with length 12 centimeters.
lina2011 [118]

Answer:

The approximate area of the regular pentagon is 423 sq.cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula of area of regular pentagon =\frac{Pa}{2}

P=Perimeter of pentagon

a=Apothem

Side of pentagon = 14.1 cm

Perimeter of pentagon =5 \times Side = 5 \times 14.1=70.5

Apothem=12 cm

Area of regular pentagon = \frac{70.5 \times 12}{2}=423 cm^2

Hence the approximate area of the regular pentagon is 423 sq.cm.

I need help on this one
umka2103 [35]
You seem to have gotten m∠2. Remember that ∠1 and ∠2 are alternate interior angles, meaning they're both equal. Since they gave you m∠1 as being 26°, you now know the measure of ∠2.

As for m∠3 and m∠4, If you look at ∠3 you'll see that it is complementary to ∠1 (They both add up to 90°), so if you subtract m∠1 from 90° you'll have found m∠3. You find m∠4 the same way.

Hope this helped.
