First connection should be positive (Red) on the running vehicle then positive on the stalled vehicle. Followed by the ground (Black) on the starting vehicle then to a good ground (any exposed bare metal) on the stalled vehicle. Try to avoid making the last connection (Ground) directly to stalled vehicle when applicable.
