Let distance be x.

Time in going, t 1 = x/50

Time in coming, t 2 = x/40

Total time T = x/40 +x/50 = 9x/200

Average speed = total distance/ total time

=( x+x)/(9x/200)= 2x ×200/9x = 400/9 = 44.44 km/h

___is when a force is exerted on an object and the object moves a distance in the direction of the force.
defon

The correct option is A) work.

Work is said to be done by a force when a force is exerted on an object and the the object on which the force is exerted moves in the direction of the force.

The amount of work done is given by the product of the force and the displacement made by the object.

Option (B) is incorrect, since Watt is the unit of power.

Option (C) is wrong, since joule is the unit of work or energy.

Option (D) is wrong, since power is the rate at which work is done.

What happens to the equilibrium price and quantity for jelly when the price of peanut butter increases? (Assume that peanut butt
Darya [45]

Answer:

Equilibrium price will fall and quantity demanded for jelly will also fall

<u>Explanation:</u>

Peanut butter and jelly are consumed together. It means they are complementary goods. These are those goods which are bought together. So increase or decrease in the price of one commodity will automatically affect the demand for another commodity.

When the price of peanut butter increases than people will demand less of peanut butter. Similarly, the demand for jelly is associated directly with the demand for peanut butter. So it will also fall . Due to the fall in the price of jelly and simultaneous fall in demand, the equilibrium price will fall.

A small bug is lying resting when nine ants simultaneously ambush it and begin pulling it in different directions. They are each
xxMikexx [17]

Answer: The bug will remain motionless

Explanation:

According to Newton's first Law of Motion (sometimes called Law of Inertia):

<em>An object at rest or describing a uniform straight line motion (moving at constant velocity), will remain at rest or moving unless an external force is applied to it and changes its state of rest or motion. </em>

In other words:

An object or body will keep its state of motion until an external force changes its state

This means that objects tend to remain in its state of motion, and is the definition of the inertia, as well.

In addition, according to his law, an object in rest can be in equilibrium (net force equals to zero), and a moving object can also be in equilibrium, as long as it keeps a constant velocity.

<h2>This is why the bug, which is at rest will remain at rest, although the ants are simultaneously pulling it in different directions, since the resultant of all these forces is zero.</h2>

A police car is located 50 feet to the side of a straight road. A red car is driving along the road in the direction of the poli
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:74.33 feet per sec

Explanation:

Given

Police car is 50 feet side of road

Red car is 140 feet up the road

Distance between them is decreasing at the rate of 70 feet per sec

From figure

x^2+y^2=z^2

z=\sqrt{140^2+50^2}

z=148.66 feet

as the red car is moving

therefore its velocity magnitude is given by

\frac{\mathrm{d} x}{\mathrm{d} t}

2x\times \frac{\mathrm{d} x}{\mathrm{d} t}+0=2z\frac{\mathrm{d} z}{\mathrm{d} t}

x\frac{\mathrm{d} x}{\mathrm{d} t}=z\frac{\mathrm{d} z}{\mathrm{d} t}

140\times \frac{\mathrm{d} x}{\mathrm{d} t}=148.66\times 70

\frac{\mathrm{d} x}{\mathrm{d} t}=74.33 feet\ per\ sec
