Physics is a discipline that its applications cut across all fields. Ranging from banking, cooking, transportation, lecturing, medicine, engineering etc. It is the bed rock of engineering because all aspect of engineering involves the application of Physics.

Some of the fields where Physics is applied are:

a) Lecturing: This field requires the continuous dissemination of Physics knowledge to students from one level to another level.

b) Medicine: The various applications of physics in medicine can not be over-emphasized. This is because medicine involves the use of ultrasound, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, magnetic resonance etc.

c) Electrical Engineering: In this field, the basic knowledge of Physics is applied to circuits, boards and electrical components.

d) Civil Engineering: The knowledge of stress, strain, shear, force, torque, weight etc are used in a lot of deductions.

e) Broadcasting station: This field make use of a lot of Physics principles so as to increase awareness and pass information. Thus the frequency of a broadcasting station determines her area coverage.

f) Transportation: As all vehicles consists of electrical devices, then the knowledge of Physics can bot be avoided.

g) Communication: Ranging from GPS, GPRS, Data transmission, voice call, email etc requires the knowledge and application of Physics.

h) Archaeology: Though not a related to Physics, but it requires the application of it. Radio-dating and carbon-dating are required to determine the age of some ancestral objects or artifacts.

How does convection current helps cooling the system of engines
Ede4ka [16]
As the engine heats up, a natural circulation starts, as coolant rises through the engine block by convection. It passes through the top hose, and into the radiator. Inside the radiator, heat is removed from the coolant as it falls from the top to the bottom.
Hope this helps!

A 0.00275 kg air‑inflated balloon is given an excess negative charge q1 =−3.50×10−8 C by rubbing it with a blanket. It is found
kati45 [8]

Answer:

1)  \rm q_2 is<u> positive.</u>

<u></u>

2) \rm q_2=4.56\times 10^{-10}\ C.

Explanation:

<h2><u>Part 1:</u></h2>

<u></u>

The charged rod is held above the balloon and the weight of the balloon acts in downwards direction. To balance the weight of the balloon, the force on the balloon due to the rod must be directed along the upwards direction, which is only possible when the rod exerts an attractive force on the balloon and the electrostatic force on the balloon due to the rod is attractive when the polarities of the charge on the two are different.

Thus, In order for this to occur, the polarity of charge on the rod must be positive, i.e., \rm q_2 is <u>positive.</u>

<u></u>

<h2><u>Part 2:</u></h2>

<u></u>

<u>Given:</u>

  • Mass of the balloon, m = 0.00275 kg.
  • Charge on the balloon, \rm q_1 = -3.50\times 10^{-8}\ C.
  • Distance between the rod and the balloon, d = 0.0640 m.
  • Acceleration due to gravity, \rm g = 9.81\ m/s^2.

In order to balloon to be float in air, the weight of the balloom must be balanced with the electrostatic force on the balloon due to rod.

Weight of the balloon, \rm W = mg = 0.00275\times 9.81=2.70\times 10^{-2}\ N.

The magnitude of the electrostatic force on the balloon due to the rod is given by

\rm F_e = \dfrac{1}{4\pi \epsilon_o}\dfrac{|q_1||q_2|}{d^2}.

\rm \dfrac{1}{4\pi \epsilon_o} is the Coulomb's constant.

For the elecric force and the weight to be balanced,

\rm F_e = W\\\dfrac{1}{4\pi \epsilon_o}\dfrac{|q_1||q_2|}{d^2}=W\\8.99\times 10^9\times \dfrac{3.50\times10^{-8}\times |q_2| }{0.0640^2}=2.70\times 10^{-2}\\|q_2| = \dfrac{2.70\times 10^{-2}\times 0.00640^2}{8.99\times 10^9\times 2.70\times 10^{-7}}=4.56\times 10^{-10}\ C.

The distance between a charge and the source of an electric field changes from 3 mm to 6 mm. as a result of the change, the elec
STatiana [176]

The electric potential energy of the charge is reduced because it decreases with increase in the distance between charges.

<h3>What is electric potential energy?</h3>

Electric potential energy can be defined as the energy needed to move a charge against an electric field.

It is calculated using the formula;

U = Kq1 q2 ÷ r

Where Q = electric potential energy

k = Coulombs constant

q1 and q2 = charges

r = distance of separation

Electric potential energy is inversely proportional to the distance of separation of the charges.

If the distance of the charges changes from 3mm to 6mm, then the electric potential energy of the charges is reduced because it decreases with increase in the distance of the charges.

Therefore, the electric potential energy of the charge is reduced because it decreases with increase in the distance between charges.

If the mass of a material is 50 grams and the volume of the material is 12 cm^3, what would the density of the material be?
AlekseyPX
The density of the material would be
25/6 grams per cm^3.
to obtain the result above this is what we do:
density is calculated as: (the mass of the given material or object) / volume of the material
which leads us to 50grams /12cm^3

Which states of matter are significantly compressible?
andreev551 [17]
Hello.

The gaseous state is the more compressible state, because it has the volume of its container.

The liquid state is virtually incompressible, and the solid state compression is very small.

The plasma is another state that has high compression, but in this case the matter is not bound(we don't have the proton in the core of the atom)
