Answer:

B is 4.

Step-by-step explanation:

If we start by the ones place and add we know that to get a one the total must be 11. 11-3 = 8.  Therefore A = 8.

Now we move to the tens place, since we know A is 8 we can substitute it there.  Don't forget to add the one from the 11 we got. 1+8+7 = 16

Now we move to the hundreds place and we carry our one from 16 so now it's 1 + 9 + ? = 4, if we know that our total needs to be 14 in order to have the 4 there- 1 + 9 is 10 we can do 10 + 4 and that gets us 14. So B is 4.

Answer:

 (B)  4

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the units column. The only sum of 3 and a single digit that will end in 1 is the sum ...

  3 + 8 = 11

This tells you A = 8, so the top number is 1983, and the middle number is B78.

Considering the first two columns, we know that 83 +78 = 161, so there must be a carry of 1 into the third column. That makes it have the sum ...

  1 + 9 + B = <something ending in 4>

We know the something cannot be 04 or 24, so must be 14. Then ...

  10 + B = 14   ⇒   B = 4

__

So, the whole sum is ...

  1983 +478 = 2461

and the letter values are ...

  • A = 8
  • B = 4
  • D = 2

gogolik [260]
So we solve for each
70% of 100=70
students who didn't buy lunch=100-70=30

some of the 70 left so that the students who bought lunch, are 60% of those who are left
we know that the students who didn't buy lunch didn't change number so therefor
100% of students left-60%=40%= students that didn't buy lunch=30 so
40%=30
20%=15
100%=75
