On a day when the barometer reads 75.23 cm, a reaction vessel holds 250 mL of ideal gas at 20 celsius. An oil manometer ( rho= 8

10 kg/m^3) reads the pressure in the vessel to be 41 cm of oil and below atmospheric pressure. What volume will the gas occupy under S.T.P.?

Answer:

V2 = 8.25 ml

Explanation:

First we will list down the data that is given to us:

V1 = 250 ml

T1 = 20° C +273K= 293K

T2= 25° C + 273K = 298K ( AT STP)

Density at STP = 13600 kg/m^3

First we will calculate the pressure inside the vessel using the formula

P = (ρ)(g)(h)

P1 = (810)(9.8)(0.41)

P1 = 3254.58 pa

P2 = (13600)(9.8)(0.7523)

P2 = 100266.544 pa

Now in order calculate the volume that the gas occupies we will use the following formula,

(P1*V1)/T1 = (P2*V2)/T2

Making V2 as the subject of the equation we get,

V2 = (P1*V1*T2)/(P2*T1)

V2 = (3254.58*250*298)/(100266.544*293)

V2 = 8.25 ml

The distance covered by a car at a time, t is given by x = 20t + 6t4, calculate
Anni [7]

Answer:

(i) v = 44 m/s

(ii) a = 72 m/s^2

Explanation:

You have the following equation for the potion of a car:

x=20t+6t^4

(i) The instantaneous velocity is the derivative of x in time:

\frac{dx}{dt}=20+(6)(4)t^3=20+24t^3

for t = 1 is:

v(t=1)=\frac{dx}{dt}=20+24(1)^3=44m/s

(ii) The instantaneous acceleration is the derivative of the velocity:

\frac{dv}{dt}=24(3)t^2=72t^2

for t = 1

a(t=1)=\frac{dv}{dt}=72(1)^2=72m/s^2

What effect do impurities have on the crystal lattice? Why does that result in the lowering of the melting point of a solid?
s344n2d4d5 [400]

Answer:

It reduces the melting point due to a defect in the arrangement of the crystal lattice.

Explanation:

The presence of impurities creates a disorderliness in the uniformity of the crystal structure. It lowers the melting point by a few degrees because it becomes easier to overcome the intermolecular force of attraction.

It makes the array of crystals disordered.

Lattice is a long chain three-dimensional arrangement of the molecules, atoms or ions in a crystal structure.
