On a day when the barometer reads 75.23 cm, a reaction vessel holds 250 mL of ideal gas at 20 celsius. An oil manometer ( rho= 8

10 kg/m^3) reads the pressure in the vessel to be 41 cm of oil and below atmospheric pressure. What volume will the gas occupy under S.T.P.?

Answer:

<u>V2 = 8.25 ml</u>

Explanation:

First we will list down the data that is given to us:

V1 = 250 ml

T1 = 20° C +273K= 293K

T2= 25° C + 273K = 298K ( AT STP)

Density at STP = 13600 kg/m^3

First we will calculate the pressure inside the vessel using the formula

P = (ρ)(g)(h)

P1 = (810)(9.8)(0.41)

<u>P1 = 3254.58 pa</u>

P2 = (13600)(9.8)(0.7523)

<u>P2 = 100266.544 pa</u>

Now in order calculate the volume that the gas occupies we will use the following formula,

(P1*V1)/T1 = (P2*V2)/T2

Making V2 as the subject of the equation we get,

V2 = (P1*V1*T2)/(P2*T1)

V2 = (3254.58*250*298)/(100266.544*293)

<u>V2 = 8.25 ml</u>

A 150 N is applied on a 20kg object to the right (horizontally). if the force of friction is 40N
Tema [17]

Answer:

a) net force = 110N to the right.

b) acceleration = 5.5 m/s/s

Explanation:

a) 150N - 40N = 110N

b) F = ma

110N = 20kg x acceleration

acceleration = 110/20 = 5.5

A 0.700-kg particle has a speed of 1.90 m/s at point circled A and kinetic energy of 7.20 J at point circled B. (a) What is its
Savatey [412]

Answer:

a). E_{kA}=1.2635 J

b). V_{B}=4.535\frac{m}{s}

c). ΔE_{t}=8.4635 J

Explanation:

ΔE=kinetic energy

a).

E_{kA}=\frac{1}{2}*m*v_{A} ^{2} \\ v_{A}=1.9 \frac{m}{s}\\ m=0.70kg\\E_{kA}=\frac{1}{2}*0.70kg*(1.9 \frac{m}{s})^{2} \\E_{kA}=1.2635 J

b).

E_{kB}=\frac{1}{2}*m*v_{B} ^{2}

V_{B}^{2}=\frac{E_{kB}*2}{m} \\V_{B}=\sqrt{\frac{E_{kB}*2}{m}} \\V_{B}=\sqrt{\frac{7.2J*2}{0.70kg}} \\V_{B}=4.53 \frac{m}{s}

c).

net work= EkA+EkB

E_{t}=E_{kA}+ E_{kB}\\E_{t}=1.2635J+7.2J\\E_{t}=8.4635J

Find the area of rectangle given below
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

6000 cm<em>²</em>

Explanation:

let width of rectangle = x

Using Pythagorean theorem,

x^{2} +<em> 50² = 130²</em>

<em />x^{2}<em> = 130² - 50² </em>

<em />x^{2}<em> = 14400</em>

<em />x <em>= 120 cm</em>

area of rectangle <em>=</em> length x width

                             <em>=</em> <em>120 x 50</em>

                             <em>= 6000 cm²</em>
