A private jet flies the same distance in 12 hours that a commercial jet flies in 8 hours. If the speed of the commercial jet was

88mph less than 2 times the speed of the private jet, find the speed of each jet.

Answer:

Commercial jet's speed = 2x-162 (plug this in the equation below)

Private jet's speed = x

Equation:

10(x) = 8(2x-162)

10x = 16x - 1296

6x = 1296

x = 216 (Private jet's speed)

Take the first equation and plug x value in;

2x-162

2(216) - 162 = 270 ( Commercial jet's speed)

Graph a triangle (LMN) and rotate it 180° around the origin to create triangle L′M′N′.
andreev551 [17]

When a triangle is rotated, it must be rotated through a center of rotation.

Assume the coordinate of LMN is

\mathbf{L = (1,1)}

\mathbf{M = (1,7)}

\mathbf{N = (3,6)}

The rule of 180-degree rotation is:

\mathbf{(x,y) \to (-x,-y)}

So, we have:

\mathbf{L' = (-1,-1)}

\mathbf{M' = (-1,-7)}

\mathbf{N' = (-3,-6)}

See attachment for the graphs of LMN and L'M'N

<u>(a) Describe the transformation</u>

When triangle LMN is rotated 180 degrees across the origin, the x and y coordinates of LMN are negated to form triangle L'M'N'

<u>(b) Lines LL' and MM'</u>

The distance between point L and the center of origin is the same as the distance between point M' and the center of origin

Similarly, the distance between point L and the center of origin is the same as the distance between point M' and the center of origin

<u>(c) Line NN'</u>

Line NN' will assume the same characteristics as lines LL' and MM'

The midpoint of (-4,15) and (22,3)
ahrayia [7]

Answer:

(9, 9)

Step-by-step explanation:

midpoint of (-4,15) and (22,3)

=  \bigg( \frac{ - 4 + 22}{2}, \:  \:  \frac{15 + 3}{2}  \bigg) \\  \\  =  \bigg( \frac{18}{2},  \:  \:  \frac{18}{2}  \bigg) \\  \\  =  ( 9,  \:  \:  9) \\  \\

Help a girl out with geometry
Darya [45]
Follow the steps

106=x+79+x+45
106=2x+124
-124= -124
-18=2x
( -18)/2=(2x)/2 <----- solving for x
-9=x

then
angle LMF= -9+79
=70

angle FMN= -9+45
= 36
(when you add 70 and 36 together you get 106 which is the measurement of angle LMN or in other word the whole thing)

In conclusion the answer to the problem is:
Angle LMF is equal to 70.

Identify the slope and y-intercept of the<br> line!
marta [7]

Slope of the line = \frac{1}{2}.

y-intercept of the line = -7.

Solution:

General form of equation of a line:

y = mx + c

where m is the slope and c is the y-intercept of the line.

Equation of a line:

$y=\frac{1}{2} x-7

To compare this with general equation.

$m=\frac{1}{2}

c=-7

Slope of the line = \frac{1}{2}.

y-intercept of the line = -7.
