The result of the court meeting between Corax and Tisias was the birth of Sophistry.

To summarize, Corax was a master of persuasion, who made a living debating cases in court. These debates came at great risk as at the time you were required to wager an amount equal to your desired reward, to give in the case that you lost. Before retiring, Corax took on an apprentice, Tisias, whom he promised to teach in return for monetary compensation.

Upon completion, Tisias refused and argued in court that if he were to lose, then Corax has not taught him well and he owes nothing, yet if he were to win, Corax must pay him for having brought the case to court.

This led to the birth of Sophistry. The idea of using a false argument to deceive someone, such as using a fact to support a claim you know to be untrue.
