Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

x - y = 2               Add y to both sides

x - y + y = 2 + y   Combine

x = 2 + y              Subtract 2 from both sides.

x - 2 = 2 - 2 + y   Switch the sides (left goes to right, right goes to left.)

y = x - 2

Find the set of outcomes that occur when we flip 3 coins and obtain at least two tails.
Vikentia [17]
First, I would show all the outcomes possible. To determine the number of the total outcomes, you use the formula: rⁿ, where r is the number of outcomes in 1 flip, and n is the number of lips. Thus, 2³ = 8 outcomes. These outcomes are:

1. HHH
2. TTT
3. HHT
<em>4. HTT</em>
5. HTH
6. THH
<em>7. TTH</em>
<em>8. THT</em>

From the given outcomes, there are <em>3 outcomes</em> that has at least two tails. These are the ones in bold characters.

Plssss help in need of answers soon

My guess is that you're doing the Law of Cosines? You have everything you need for that except the angle theta, which is the thing you need to find.  It's set up like this: (8)^2 = (10)^2 + (5)^2 -[2(10)(5)cos A]  I used A instead of theta. Doing that math, you have: 64 = 100 + 25 -[ 100 cos A]; 64 = 125 - 100 cos A;
-61 = - 100 cos A; -61 / -100 = cos A; .61 = cos A. Now use your inverse function on your calculator to find cos^-1(.61) and that equals 52.4

18. cos t(sec t - cos t)

\bf sin^2(\theta)+cos^2(\theta)=1\implies sin^2(\theta)=1-cos^2(\theta)\\\\&#10;sec(\theta)=\cfrac{1}{cos(\theta)}&#10;\\\\&#10;-----------------------------\\\\&#10;cos(t)[sec(t)-cos(t)]\implies cos(t)sec(t)-cos(t)cos(t)&#10;\\\\\\&#10;cos(t)\cdot \cfrac{1}{cos(t)}-cos^2(t)\implies 1-cos^2(t)\implies \boxed{sin^2(t)}
