Verizon [17]

Answer: ⇒ The finance charge = $77

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The cost price of DVD player= $295

Since, Tim agreed to pay $31 per month for 12 months .

Therefore, the total amount paid by Tim= 31\times12=\$372

The finance charge =\text{Amount paid by Tim - Cost price of DVD}

You buy items costing $1900 and finance the cost with a fixed installment loan for 24 months at 8% simple interest per year.
ddd [48]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  1. $304
  2. $91.83

Step-by-step explanation:

1. The finance charge is found from the simple interest formula;

  I = Prt

where P is the principal amount, r is the annual rate, and t is the number of years.

24 months is 2 years, so the interest charged is ...

  I = $1900×0.08×2 = $304

The finance charge is $304.

__

2. The monthly payment will be the total amount due, divided by the number of months.

  payment = ($1900 +304)/24 = $2204/24 ≈ $91.83

The monthly payment is $91.83.

| x - 1 | = 5x + 10<br> Check for extraneous solutions.
Ronch [10]
[x-1]=5x+10

We have two equations:
1) x-1=5x+10

x-1=5x+10
x-5x=10+1
-4x=11
x=-11/4

2) x-1=-(5x+10)

x-1=-(5x+10)
x-1=-5x-10
x+5x=-10+1
6x=-9
x=-9/6=-3/2

we have two  possible solutions:
solution₁;       x=-11/4
solution₂:       x=-3/2

we check it out:
1) x=-11/4
[x-1]=5x+10
[-11/4  - 1]=5(-11/4)+10
[(-11-4)/4]=-55/4  + 10
[-15/4]=(-55+40) /4
15/4≠-15/4   This solution don´t work.

2) x=-3/2
[x-1]=5x+10
[-3/2  - 1]=5(-3/2)+10
[(-3-2)/2]=-15/2  + 10
[-5/2]=(-15+20)/2
5/2=5/2; this solution works.

Therefore:

Answer: x=-3/2.

How do I find the side lengths for this triangle if only one side and ond angle is given? Plz help
alexandr1967 [171]
The two unknown sides are equal to each other so then the two unknown angles are also equal.

A triangle angles add up to 180
36 + 2x = 180
2x = 180 - 36
2x = 144
unknown angles x = 72°

draw line down center of triangle to make two right triangles with side 22/2 = 11. SOH CAH TOA

cos(72) = 11/H
H = 11/cos(72)
H = 35.6

perimeter = 22 + 2(35.6)
perimeter = 93.2 cm
