Answer:

CM = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

set CM=x and BM=y       AM= 7-y

right triangle BMC: x² = 5² - y² = 25 - y²   ... (1)

right triangle AMC: x² = (4√2)² - (7-y)² = 32 - 49 +14y - y² = -17 + 14y -y² ...(2)

(1)-(2): 0 = 42 - 14y

14y = 42

y (BM) = 3

x² (CM²) = 25 - 3² = 16

x (CM) = 4  (height is positive)

What methods could you use to calculate the x-coordinate of the midpoint of a horizontal segment with the endpoints of (-20, 0)
Ronch [10]
The coordinates (abscissa and ordinates) of the midpoint of the line segment is the average of the abscissas and the ordinates, respectively. Therefore, the x - coordinate of the midpoint is equal to -20 + 20 or 0 by 2 which is zero. The answer is letter E.

Answer:

So if we count all of the different squares we get that there are 36 squares aka 6*6. So no we need to get how many of the squares add up to greater than 8. Those would be 10/36. 10 of them are greater than 8. So we simplify and we get 5/18. 5/18 is the answer. Hope this helped

A solid right pyramid has a square base with an edge length of s units and a height of h units. Which expression represents the
nadya68 [22]
<span><u><em>The correct answer is not listed; it is: </em></u>
V=</span>\frac{1}{3} s^2h units³<span>.

<u><em>Explanation</em></u><span><u><em>: </em></u>
<u>The volume of a right prism is given by: </u>
the area of the base * the height.

However, this is a pyramid; since it comes to a point, the volume is:
</span></span>\frac{1}{3} <span>* the area of the base * the height.

Since the base is <u>a square</u>, the area is s*s=s</span>²<span>. The height is h.
This gives us:
V=</span>\frac{1}{3} s^2h units³.
