An arctic weather balloon is filled with 4.96 L of helium gas inside a prep shed. The temperature inside the shed is 6. °C. The
Virty [35]

The new volume of the balloon : V₂ = 4.89 L

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Given

V₁ = 4.96 L

T₁ = 6 + 273 = 279 K

T₂ = 2 + 273 = 275 K

Required

The new volume

Solution

Charles's Law

When the gas pressure is kept constant, the gas volume is proportional to the temperature

\tt \dfrac{V_1}{T_1}=\dfrac{V_2}{T_2}

Input the value :

V₂=V₁.T₂/T₁

V₂ = 4.96 x 275 / 279

V₂ = 4.89 L

The m equivalent of 758,422,344 cm equals (to 3 sf)
denis23 [38]

1) convert cm to m

= 758,422,344\ cm\ x\ \frac{1\ m}{100\ cm} \\= 7,584,223.44\ m

2) sig figs

When making a bigger number smaller, the exponent will be a positive number.

The answer will be 7.58 × 10^{6} meters after rounding

Can you look at the picture and tell me that answer ? Thank you
zepelin [54]
The answer is choice (1).

In case you're interested in the solution for future reference:

-- Density = (mass) / (volume)

-- The scale shows that the mass of the sample is 60 grams.

-- The graduated cylinder has 24 mL in it <em>without</em> the sample.
The graduated cylinder has 34 mL in it <em>with</em> the sample.
The volume of the sample is (34mL - 24mL) = 10 mL .

-- Density = mass/volume = 60g / 10mL = 6 g/mL
