You could plug it into a calculator to get your solutions or you could factor. Let's factor.

You need to find two numbers that when multiplied get you -18 and when added get you 3.

Let's get factors of -18:
1 × -18
2 × -9
3 × -6

The only factors that can get you that are -3 and 6.

(x-3)(x+6)=0

Set each factor equal to 0 and solve.
x-3=0
x=3

x+6=0
x=-6

Your solutions are 3 and -6.

What is the value of x in the equation 25x^2 = 16?
Lera25 [3.4K]

25x^2 = 16

divide each side by 25

x^2 = 16/25

take the square root of each side

sqrt (x^2) = +- sqrt(16/25)

x = +- sqrt(16)/sqrt(25)

x = +- 4/5

x = 4/5, - 4/5

I need help ASAP ! <br> Please fast ! What mathematical term do we use for the first part of proof ?
kiruha [24]

Answer:

A mathematical proof is an inferential argument for a mathematical statement, showing that the stated assumptions logically guarantee the conclusion.The argument may use other previously established statements, such as theorems; but every proof can, in principle, be constructed using only certain basic or original assumptions known as axioms, along with the accepted rules of inference.

Its got to be in there.
