Biology

A skeptical attitude in science means a new idea will only be accepted if it is backed by evidence.

A skeptical attitude is based on critical thinking and opposes claims that lack verifiable evidence.

Skepticism is part of the scientific method and it questions ideas based on scientific knowledge.

For example, an experimental result cannot be considered as proven until it shows a certain repeatability.

In other words, scientific skepticism consists of doubting when the evidence is unsatisfactory since when something is probable or reasonable, it does not necessarily have to be true.

Therefore, we can conclude that a skeptical attitude in science means the questioning of claims / ideas that lack sufficient evidence.

What do you think is useful about knowing how to read a pedigree
Jobisdone [24]

Answer:

Knowing how to read a pedigree allows you to track through the family history and how a condition is passed down, if it is genetic. It allows you to tell if the condition is sex-linked, autosomal, dominant, or recessive. It also allows you to see the family and what occurs in the family, such as marriages, miscarriages, and other relationships.
