Dylan bought 3 identical shirts online for a total cost of $71.83 including a flat rate of $7.99 for shipping. Drag numbers to c
Masteriza [31]

Answer:

Shirt #1

x = 63.84 - y - z

Shirt # 2

y = 63.84 - x - z

Shirt # 3

z = 63.84 - x - y

Step-by-step explanation:

First calculate the value of the 3 shirts as follows:

$ 71.83 - $ 7.99 = $ 63.84.

$ 63.84.

The general equation would be, where x is the value of shirt # 1, and the value of shirt # 2 and z is the value of shirt # 3:

x + y + z = 63.84, then for each shirt would be the following equations:

Shirt #1

x = 63.84 - y - z

Shirt # 2

y = 63.84 - x - z

Shirt # 3

z = 63.84 - x - y

For example, if we give values (always the sum of both under 63.84) to two shirts, x = $ 20, y = $ 30 then the value of shirt # 3 would be:

<em>z = 63.84 - 20 - 30 = $ 13.84</em>

PLEASE NEED HELP PLZ
never [62]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi, saw your comments, TY :)

this is super tricky b/c they tell us at the top that the triangles are similar so we have to know that we can use that triangle relation to make an equation. It just seem like to me, that you'd not see this  "connection"  where

the smaller triangle is CDE and the bigger one is QPR , so the side can be the lower case of those letters..  the side opposite of the angle is the lower case letter like the angle, soo

p = 2x + 16

r = 33

e = 8

c = 6

then the triangles have that similar triangle relation, of

p = e

r = c

so the fractional relations ship between  e/p  = c /r  you could also make it work by doing  p/e = r/c   but.. you have to keep the bigger triangle and smaller one in the same place for each fraction.  So it's important to keep that clear, which is which

let's use the fractions this way

p/e = r/c  , it seems easiest to me, plug in the values,

2x + 16 / 8 = 33 / 6  ( now some algebra,  where all mistakes happen :P)

2x + 16 = 8 ( 33 / 6 )   ( times 8 on both sides )

2x + 16 = 4 ( 33 / 3 )         ( I just reduced by 2 )

2x + 16 = 4 ( 11 )

2x + 16 = 44

2x  = 44 - 16

2x = 28

x = 14                  ( divide by 2 on both sides )

Yay,  you can check to see if it's right by plugging 14 in for x and seeing if the  p/e = r/c relationship works, I did, and it does :P  but try it just for practice :)

In ΔGHI, the measure of ∠I=90°, the measure of ∠G=34°, and HI = 7 feet. Find the length of GH to the nearest tenth of a foot.
muminat

Answer:

GH ≈ 12.5 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the sine ratio in the right triangle

sin34° = \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse} = \frac{HI}{GH} = \frac{7}{GH} ( multiply both sides by GH )

GH × sin34° = 7 ( divide both sides by sin34° )

GH = \frac{7}{sin34} ≈ 12.5 ft ( to the nearest tenth )
