Answer:

Meanders

As the river makes its way to the middle course, it gains more water and therefore more energy, so material can be carried in suspension and is used to erode the river banks. Lateral erosion starts to widen the river. When a river flows over flatter land it develops large bends called meanders.

As a river goes around a bend, most of the water is pushed towards the outside. This causes increased speed due to less friction and therefore increased erosion (through hydraulic action and abrasion).

The lateral erosion on the outside bend causes undercutting of the river bank to form a river cliff.

There is less water on the inside bend of a meander so friction causes the water to slow down, lose energy and deposit the material the river is carrying, creating a gentle slope.

The build-up of deposited sediment is known as a slip-off slope (or sometimes river beach).

The fast current on the outside bank causes lateral erosion, creating a river cliff. The slow current on the inside bank causes deposition, creaitng a slip-off slope.

Oxbow lakes

Due to erosion on the outside of a bend and deposition on the inside, the shape of a meander will change over a period of time. Erosion narrows the neck of the land within the meander and as the process continues, the meanders move closer together. When there is a very high discharge (usually during a flood), the river cuts across the neck, taking a new, straighter and shorter route. Deposition will occur to cut off the original meander, leaving a horseshoe-shaped oxbow lake.

Erosion makes the neck narrow. During floods, the river takes the shortest course through the neck. The river has a new straighter course and the abandoned meander is called an oxbow lake.

The ability to taste the chemical PTC is determined in humans by a dominant allele T, with tasters having the genotypes Tt or TT
zhenek [66]

Answer:

Option A

Explanation:

The genotypic frequency for tt (q²) = 36% = 36/100 = 0.36

To calculate for the allelic frequency of t which is q, we have to find the square root of q² to do this. Thus

√q² = √0.36 = 0.6 this q = 0.6

The allelic frequency p for the T allele can then be calculated using this formula p + q = 1

Where q is 0.6 thus p= 1 - 0.6 = 0.4.

This the allelic freq of T is 0.4

Sequencing eukaryotic genomes is more difficult than sequencing genomes of bacteria or archaea because of the _____.
AlekseyPX
Are there options? because there are lots of answers.

Firstly, eukaryotic DNA tends to be much longer; it's held inside a nucleus, so it has to be separated from the rest of the cell; and there are also mitochondria in most eukaryotic cells, which have their own RNA, which has to be separated.

Sickle Cell anemia is a disease caused by a recessive allele. What is the chance a child will have Sickle Cell if one parent has
zlopas [31]

If one parent has been affected by sickle cell anemia, while the other parent does not and is homozygous, the chances that a child will have this disorder is 0%. Thus, the correct option is C.

What is Sickle Cell anemia?

Sickle Cell anemia may be defined as a genetic disorder that is caused by a recessive allele. It is an inherited disease in which the red blood cells have an irregular crescent shape, obstruct small blood vessels, etc.

This disease is inherited when both genes of each parent are supposed to be defective or carriers. While in this case, only parents are affected by the disorder while the other is homozygous for the normal allele.

In this condition, all the offspring produced by both parents remain as carriers but not affected ones.

Thus, the correct option is C.
