Volume of the tank = 12.5 gal

Full part of the tank = 1/8 of the tank

Empty part of the tank = 1 - 1/8 = 7/8 of the tank

Volume to fill the empty part of the tank :-

 • 12.5* 7/8 =
 • 12.5*0.875 =
 • 10.9375 gallons

ANSWER = 10.9375 gallons

Step-by-step explanation:

Hey there, CrisisOnCats!

Absolute value is when any value that's inside the box, positive or negative, will always come out as positive.
For this one, you solve it as a normal equation, solving for x.
So, 8 = 5 - x
8-5 = 5-5 - x
3 = -x
x = -3
One value can be -3
To find the other value, just find any value that's equal to 8 when added or subtracted from 5, negative or positive.
We have 13 in this case.
5 - 13 is equals to -8 but since it's absolute value, it would be positive 8.
So, the answer is D
