The correct answer is the energy that is released.

As the stars are tremendously hot, they shine. The source of their energy is nuclear fusion reactions taking place deep within the stars. In the majority of the stars, like the Sun, hydrogen is getting transformed into helium, a procedure that radiates energy, thus, heating the star and making it bright. Thus, the reaction known as nuclear fusion emits energy that makes the star to shine brightly.

If a gas is cooled from 425.0K to 275.15K and the volume is kept constant what final pressure would result if the original press
mr Goodwill [35]

Answer: 498.51mmHg

Explanation:

First let us analyse what was given from the question:

T1 = 425K

T2 = 275.15K

P1 = 770 mmHg

P2 =?

Using the general gas equation

P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2

But we were told from the question that the volume is constant. So, our equation becomes:

P1/T1 = P2/T2

770/425 = P2 /275.15

Cross multiply to express in linear form:

P2 x 425 = 770 x 275.15

Divide both side by 425, we have:

P2 = (770 x 275.15) /425

P2 = 498.51mmHg

Which of these statements best describes the formula unit for a compound made from Mg and Cl?
olga2289 [7]

Answer:

It is MgCl₂ because the total positive charge on Mg is two

Explanation:

The bond between the atoms that makes up the formula unit of the compound is an ionic bond. This bond involves the transfer of electrons between atoms.

Mg is in the second group on the period on the periodic table. It has two valence electrons and would readily lose it to have a stable atomic configuration like those of noble gases. This leaves magnesium with a net positive charge of 2. Each chlorine atom gains one electron to achieve their own octet.

Word equations- Please help ASAP
nekit [7.7K]

Answer:

See answer below

Explanation:

In this case, you just need to use any acid you want (Like HCl, or H₂SO₄) to do this exercise.

You are given a sample of what you have to do which is:

Acid + metal ------> Salt + hydrogen

As you can see, an acid like the ones I wrote above, have hydrogen atoms, so you should put the hydrogen there. As for the part of salt, you just need to draw the corresponding salt that is formed when the acid reacts with the metal, and write it's name.

Let's do all three equations for you to a better understanding. For all the given examples, I will use HCl as acid, and i will explain one reaction cause the other two reactions happens the same thing, only with a different metal.

1. 2HCl + Zn ------> ZnCl₂ + H₂

As you can see, we just have a displacement reaction where the metal displaces the position of the hydrogen to form the salt and the hydrogen leaves the molecule as a gaseous molecule. Written in words it would be:

Hydrochloric acid + Zinc ----> Zinc chloride + hydrogen

2. 2HCl + Pb -------> PbCl₂ + H₂

Hydrochloric acid + lead ------> Lead (II) chloride + hydrogen

3. 2HCl + Fe -------> FeCl₂ + H₂

Hydrochloric acid + iron ------> Iron (II) chloride + hydrogen

Hope this helps

Combining 0.350 mol Fe 2 O 3 with excess carbon produced 18.9 g Fe . Fe 2 O 3 + 3 C ⟶ 2 Fe + 3 CO
lapo4ka [179]

Answer:

1. 0.338 moles of Fe

2. 0.700 moles of Fe

3. 48.3%

Explanation:

This is the reaction:

Fe₂O₃ + 3C →  2Fe + 3CO

We were told that we produce 18.9 g of Fe. Let's convert the mass to moles:

18.9 g . 1mol/ 55.85 g = 0.338 moles of Fe

Let's make a rule of three; ratio is 1:2.

1 mol of oxide can produce 2 moles of elemental iron

Then, 0.350 moles must produce (0.350 .2) / 1 = 0.700 moles of Fe

Let's determine the percent yield:

(Yield produced /Theoretical Yield) . 100 = 48.3 %
