Answer:

See the top left picture. the answer is there

Step-by-step explanation:

I will assume big cylinder is A. and small one is B.

Volume A = 424

Volume B = 188

the difference is 424 - 188 = 236.

If you see the top left picture, the side is divided by 2. Left side 188 and right side 188. Next step is, we can see that the shape is only difference at the top (for diameter), so we must slice it diagonally, means we need to divided it again by 2. So the remaining is 188/2 for both left and right.

Now add all the volume together (look at the shape)

Cylinder B + remaining left + remaining right = 188 + 94 + 94 = 306

The hardware store where you work charge 80 cents including tax, for a pound of nails. A customer purchases 5 3/4 pound of nails
Sophie [7]

Answer:

$4.60

Step-by-step explanation:

1 lb ---> 80 cents

5 3/4 lb ---> 5 3/4 * 80 cents

5 \dfrac{3}{4} \times 80 =

= \dfrac{23}{4} \times \dfrac{80}{1}

= \dfrac{23 \times 80}{4 \times 1}

= \dfrac{1840}{4}

= 460

460 cents = $4.60

A pair of dice is rolled. Find the probability for P(not 2 or not 12)
irakobra [83]

Answer:

There’s only one way to get 12 when 2 dice are tossed, both have to equal 6. There are 6 ways tossing a single die can come out (1,2,3,4,5,6), so if you toss dice, the second die could have any one of six values with each of the numbers that could result from the first toss (e.g., 1 from die 1 and 1,2,3,4,5, or 6 from die 2). So, considering there are 6 ways to fill each of two slots, there are 6 x 6 = 36 possible outcomes of tossing two dice. Only one of them equals 12, so p(12 given 2 dice tossed) = 1/36 = 0.02777777777778.

What two numbers add to 8 and multiply to 28
anygoal [31]
Find numbers that multiply to 28 and add them to see if they add to 8
28=
1 and 28=29 not 8
2 and 14=16 not 8
4 and 7=11 not 8
that's it'
no 2 numbers
we must use quadratic formula

x+y=8
xy=28

x+y=8
subtract x fromb oths ides
y=8-x
subsitute
x(8-x)=28
distribute
8x-x^2=28
add x^2 to both sides
8x=28+x^2
subtract 8x
x^2-8x+28=0

if you have
ax^2+bx+c=0 then x=\frac{-b+/- \sqrt{b^{2}-4ac} }{2a}
so if we have
1x^2-8+28=0 then
a=1
b=-8
c=28

x=\frac{-(-8)+/- \sqrt{(-8)^{2}-4(1)(28)} }{2(1)}
x=\frac{8+/- \sqrt{-48} }{2}
x=\frac{8+/- 4 \sqrt{-3} }{2}
x=4+/- 2 \sqrt{-3}
x=4+/- 2i \sqrt{3}
there are no real numbers that satisfy this
