Y= ∛(-x) - 3
for x = -8 → y = ∛-(-8) - 3 ↔ y = 2-3 ↔y = -1
for x= 8 → y= ∛(-8) - 3 ↔ y = -2 -3 ↔ y = -5
Then  - 5≤ y≤ - 1
hence the range of y is {y|-5≤y≤-1}

Three streets intersect to form a right triangle as shown below. The parts of streets that make up the legs of this triangle are
Burka [1]

Answer:

70 yd.

Step-by-step explanation:

The three streets at the intersection form a right triangle.

For a right triangle, the length of the longest side (called hypothenuse) is given by Pythagorean's theorem:

h=\sqrt{x^2+y^2}

where

x is the length of the 1st side

y is the length of the 2nd side

h is the length of the hypothenuse

Here we want to find the hypothenuse.

We have:

x = 42 yd (length of the 1st side)

y = 56 yd (length of the 2nd side)

Substituting, we find h:

h=\sqrt{42^2+56^2}=70 yd

The number of visitors to an art museum increases each year. The function V(t) = N(1 + r)t represents the number of visitors to
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

Option A - The number of visitors is multiplied by (1+r) each year

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The number of visitors to an art museum increases each year. The function V(t) = N(1 + r)^t represents the number of visitors to the museum at year t, where N is the number of visitors in year 0 and r is the rate of increase.

To find : Select the correct statement?

Solution :

We have given an exponential function,

The function V(t) = N(1 + r)^t represents the number of visitors to the museum at year t, where N is the number of visitors in year 0 and r is the rate of increase.

As In year 0,

The initial visitors is V(t) = N(1 + r)^0=N

In year 1,

V(t) = N(1 + r)^1=N(1+r)

In year 2,

V(t) = N(1 + r)^2

So, According to this the number of visors is multiplied by (1+r) each year.

Therefore, Option A is correct.

<u>Note that:</u>

  • Volume of prism = LBH
  • L = 6 m
  • B = 4 m
  • H = 2 m

Substitute the values into the expression to find the volume.

  • Volume of prism = LBH
  • => Volume of prism = (6)(4)(2)
  • => Volume of prism = 48 m³
