There is no solution for two equations 2x – y = 7 and y = 2x + 3 .

What is an equation?

A statement that the values of two mathematical expressions are equal (indicated by the sign =).

Name different methods to solve the system of equations .

(1)The Graphing Method .

(2)The Substitution Method .

(3)The Linear Combination Method

(4)The Addition Method

(5)The Elimination Method.

(6)The Matrix Method .

The solution of two equations

2x – y = 7 and

y = 2x + 3

On solving the two equations by Substitution Method ,we get

2x-(2x+3) =7

⇒2x-2x-3=7

⇒0 -3 =7

⇒-3 =7

But since the numbers are not equal ,so we conclude that

-3≠7

Hence ,as x gets canceled and y value is substituted ,so as a result we get two numbers which are also not equal .

Hence, there is no solution for x and y .

Let sin ? = 4/5, and cos ? = ?3/5, and find the indicated value
Charra [1.4K]
Let the unknown angle be x.
That is
sin x = 4/5
cos x = 3/5

By drawing a right triangle in the first quadrant,
hypotenuse = 5
Adjacent side = 3
opposite side = 4

That is tan x = 4/3
From the calculator,
x = arctan(4/3) = 53 deg (nearest integer)

Answer: 53 deg. (nearest integer)

Give an example of a quadratic with complex roots. Explain how you know it has complex roots.
Vladimir [108]
2x^2 + x + 3=0 has only complex roots.

The determinant is 1-4*2*3 = -23

-23 (or any determinant) is the part under the square root sign, If that determinant is negative, knowing you cannot take the square root of a negative number, we know the answers must be complex.

How can knowing 4 times 7 help find the product of 8 times 7.
Nadya [2.5K]
Because 4x2 = 8, so 4x7=28, then you times 28 by 2 which equals 56 and 8x7=56
