252 SA warblers, 75 have long plumage. After the birds from the combined populations mate randomly, the island population produces 1000 offspring. Calculate the number of these offspring that are expected to have long plumage. Round the number to two significant figures.

401 of these offspring are expected to have long plumage.

To calculate the number of these offspring that are expected to have long plumage the following cross multiplication calculation must be performed:

  • Total birds = 72 + 252 = 324
  • Long plumage birds = 55 + 75 = 130
  • 324 = 130
  • 1000 = X
  • 1000 x 130/324 = X
  • 130000/324 = X
  • 401.23 = X

Therefore, 401 of these offspring are expected to have long plumage.

ID isn't even genuine science, and it's an affront to religion too: their hypotheses make God look moronic and compel him to things that we don't yet get it. What ID advocates do is they discover something that isn't yet comprehended (at a certain point, it was a bacterial flagellum) and essentially wave their hands and say "God did it!", and afterward when that thing has been legitimately clarified by genuine researchers, they discover something else that hasn't been clarified yet and rehash the process.
