I think we should respond by that God is the "sovereign Lord of all by an incontestable right [as the] creator and owner and possessor of heaven and earth." Sovereignty is an attribute of God based upon the premise that God as the creator of heaven and earth has absolute right and full authority to do or allow whatever He desires.

Following the War of 1812 and experiences with blockades and embargoes, the US came to the realization they could not be self-sufficient and were dependent on Great Britain for manufacturing.
