At a recent meeting at the American College of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology, researchers reported that allergy vaccinations a

re effective in treating sinusitis (inflammation of the membrane lining the facial sinuses) in individuals predisposed to allergies. Specifically, the researchers reported that of individuals predisposed to allergies find relief from their sinusitis after allergy vaccinations. Suppose that this number is accurate and that individuals predisposed to allergies are chosen at random and given allergy vaccinations.
a. Estimate the number of individuals in the random sample who do not find relief from their sinusitis by giving the mean of the relevant distribution (that is, the expectation of the relevant random variable).
b. Quantify the uncertainty of your estimate by giving the standard deviation of the distribution.

A boat is heading towards a lighthouse, whose beacon-light is 136 feet above the
alexandr1967 [171]

The distance between the points A to B is 899.9 feet. After rounding off the nearest integer we get 900 feet as the final answer.

Given we know that CD is perpendicular to AD.

The distance between CD is 139 feet.

As from points A the boat's crew measure the angle of elevation to the beacon as 6°

therefore, m∠A = 6°

Another time the angle of elevation is measured from point B which is 19°.

therefore, m∠DBC = 19°

tan 19° = CD/BD

BD = CD/tan19°

BD = 136/tan 19°

now for tan 6° = CD/AD (tangent is opposite over adjacent)

AD = CD/tan 6°

AD = 136/tan 6°

AB = AD ₋ BD

AB = 136/tan 6° ₋ 136/tan 19°

AB = 1295.2 ₋ 395.3

AB = 900 feet

hence the distance from point A to B is 900 feet.

(2x−6)+4(x−3)
This is for math and I am very confused, please help
Alex Ar [27]

Answer:

6x-18

Step-by-step explanation:

(2x-6)+4(x-3)

you distribute the 4 by multiplying it with the variables within the parenthesis.

(2x-6)+(4x-3)

you can loose the parenthesis and group common factors together.

2x+4x-6-3

add

6x-18

Factor 36x2 + 60x + 25. (12x + 5)(3x + 5) (6x + 5)(6x - 5) (6x + 5)2

(6x+5)^2 because both brackets have to have a plus in the middle to make the 25 positive and (6x5)x2 equals 60
