A truck can be rented from Company A for $110 a day plus $0.50 per mile. Company B charges $80 a day plus $0.75 per mile to rent

the same truck. Part A: Write an equation to find the number of miles in a day at which the rental costs for Company A and Company B are the same. Part B: Solve the equation.

m=number of miles

A=$110+$0.50m

B=$80+$0.80m

$110+$0.50m=$80+$0.80m Subtract ($80+$0.50m)

$30=$0.30m Divide each side by $0.30

100=m ANSWER: More than 100 miles must be driven per day to make Company A a better deal.

Step-by-step explanation:

Steven earns in 4 hours -$23.00

he earns in 6 hours-$34.50

there fore in 10 hours -23.00+34.50=$57.50

in 20 hours -57.50+57.50=$115

and in 4 hours-$23.00+115.00=138.00$

then he earn $138.00 one day

Write the equation of a line that is perpendicular to y=-2/7x + 9 and that passes through the point (-4,6) [FP]
siniylev [52]

Answer:

$y=(7/2)x+20$

Step-by-step explanation:

SInce the gradient of the first line is $-2/7$ then the gradien of the perpendicular line is $7/2$.

Therefore by the point slope formula the line that we are looking for is

$y-6=(7/2)(x+4)$

$y=(7/2)x + 20$

Prepare a perpetual inventory record, using the FIFO inventory costing method, and determine the company's cost of goods sol
krek1111 [17]

Answer:

The First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory costing method assumes that the inventory items ordered first are the first ones sold.

Step-by-step explanation:

The First-In, First-Out inventory costing method assumes that the inventory items ordered first are the first sold. This is ideal for goods that are highly perishable, for example fresh milk. Since no figures or dates are given, we will assume that the month is March 2019 and use any figures to make the example.

Date Item      Quantity of stock Cost Price

01  Opening stock bought on Feb 28  10   100

05  Sale of 5 goods (cost is $10 each)  (5)   50

15 Purchase of stock (20 goods at $20 each) 20   400

25 Sale of 15 goods                     (15)   250

(5 at $10 each & 10 at $20 each)

31 Closing Stock               10   200

       (20 goods bought on 15th - 10 goods sold on 25th)

The quantity on hand at the end of the month is 10 units.

Total cost of goods on hand at end of the month = 10 units * $20 = 200.

Total cost of goods purchased during the month = $20 * 20 units = $400

Total cost of goods sold during the month = [($10 *5) + ($10 * 5)+ ($20 * 10)] = $200

The height of a triangle is 8 m more than the length of the base. The area of the triangle is 21 m^2. Find the height of the tri
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

<h2>height = 12 cm</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a triangle is given by

A =  \frac{1}{2} bh

where

b is the base

h is the height

From the question

Area = 21 m²

The statement

The height of a triangle is 8 m more than the length of the base is written as

h = 8 + b

Make b the subject

That's

b = h - 8

Substitute the expression into the above formula and solve for the height

That's

21 =  \frac{1}{2} (h - 8)h

Multiply through by 2

h² - 8h = 48

h² - 8h - 48 = 0

(h + 4)(h - 12) = 0

h + 4 = 0 h - 12 = 0

h = - 4 h = 12

Since the height cannot be a negative number we have the final answer as

<h3>height = 12 cm</h3>

Hope this helps you

The formula for electrical power (P, in watts) is where V is the voltage in volts and R is the resistance in ohms. For a particu
bazaltina [42]

Answer: 4 V

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for electrical power P is:

P=\frac{V^{2}}{R}

Where:

P=0.5 W is the water heater electrical power

V is he water heater voltage

R=32 \Omega is the electrical resistance

Isolating V:

V=\sqrt{PR}

V=\sqrt{(0.5 W)(32 \Omega)}

Hence:

V=4 V
