What advantages do flowers give angiosperms over gymnosperms?
tia_tia [17]
Hey! Look what I found online.

In general, it makes the angiosperms more efficient in pollination and, therefore, in producing seeds. Most angiosperms have perfect or bisexual flowers, that is, both the male and female reproductive organs are borne on the same flower while these are separated in the gymnosperms. In the conifers which are gymnosperms, thousands of pollen grains will be needed to pollinate one female. The pollens are carried by the wind and having one pollen land exactly on the stamen is quite an impossibility.

Many angiosperms have colorful petals. This attracts the insects and birds. As they move from one flower to another, they deposit the pollens on the stigma of another flower. The nectar that angiospermous flowers produce and the aroma emitted play the same role.

16. Name one reason why neurotransmitters typically have very short-lived effects at chemical synapses.
swat32

Answer: The neurotransmitter molecules then diffuse across the synaptic cleft where they can bind with receptor sites on the postsynaptic ending to influence the electrical response in the postsynaptic neuron.

I hope this helps you:)

What would happen of the cell membrane were not selectively permeable
grandymaker [24]
If the cell membrane were not selectively permeable, then unwanted substances would transfer through instead of being blocked out. Think of it like this: you have a sifter with various sizes of spice in it. You only want the finer grains of spice in your food, so when you shake the sifter, the larger pieces of spice don't fit through the small holes that only allow fine grains. Then you are left with the small spices in your food and the large ones stuck in the sifter.
Hopefully this helps and I wasn't too confusing :)

Phytoplankton are so tiny you need a microscope to see them. How do they affect the global carbon cycle?
Ksju [112]

Answer:

Phytoplanktons are microscopic creatures that are primary producers of oceans. Phytoplanktons take carbon dioxide from atmosphere to make their food and then they are eaten by some other animals of oceans.

Phytoplanktons are present in huge numbers in oceans and have a great contribution to the carbon cycle because it is responsible for the transfer of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to the oceans.

Most of the carbon is released through combustion by animals that eat phytoplanktons but some accumulate in the ocean floor because some dead phytoplanktons settles down in the ocean.
