Answer:

Below.

Step-by-step explanation:

a. As the circumcentre is (0,0) and one point on the circle is (10,0) the radius is 10.

The circle has equation:

x^2 + y^2 = 10^2

x^2 + y^2 = 100.

b. (-5, k)  is a point on the circle, so

(-5)^2 + k^2 = 100

k^2 = 100 - 25 = 75

So k =  √75

k = 5√3 or 8.66 to 2 places of decimals.

c. The lengths of the 3 sides of the triangles are 10, 10 and 15.8 so it is isosceles.

Janet can plant nine feet of carrots in 15 minutes while her daughter Amy can plant 17 feet of carrots in half an hour.
Lena [83]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find who is more efficient at planting carrots, we want to put both ratios in terms of the same amount of time.

For simplicity, lets see how many carrots each can make in 1 hour.

Janet:\\9ft \: in \: 15 \:minutes

\frac{9ft}{15min} = \frac{xft}{60min}\\x = \frac{60*9}{15} = 36

Janet can plant 36 feet of carrots in one hour

Amy:\\\frac{17ft}{30min} = \frac{xft}{60min}\\x = \frac{17*60}{30} = 34

Amy can plant 34 feet of carrots in one hour

So, Janet can plant carrots more quickly

We are asked to determine the correct factorization of the given trinomial which is 5x² - 5x -100. The solution to this problem is shown below:
5x² - 5x - 100 let the problem equal to zero such as:
5x² - 5x - 100 = 0 , factor out 5 from the given trinomial
5(x²-x-20) = 0
5 (x-5)(x+4) = 0

The correct factor is 5(x-5)(x+4).
