zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

Distance = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

-12 and -15

Required

Solve the difference

The question you posted included the solution. However, the solution is incorrect;

The absolute difference is represented as:

Difference = \vert a - b \vert

In this case:

a = -12

b = -15

So, the distance is calculated as:

Distance = |-12 - (-15)|

Open bracket

Distance = |-12 +15|

Distance = |3|

Distance = 3

Help?
Kazeer [188]
Remember, h(x) = y and x ...well, x is x...lol

B. h(x) = |x|....subbing in (-1,1)
     y = |x|
     1 = |-1|...absolute values are positive, even when they say negative

Find the value of x. Hint: the chords are congruent/equal (I will give 20 points)
Advocard [28]

\huge \purple{\tt{Answer:}}

If the chords are equal , then the measurement of both the chords will also be the same . That means ,

\sf {6x-7 =35} \\\\\ \implies \sf {6x = 35 +7} \\\\\ \implies \sf {6x=42} \\\\\ \implies \sf{x= {\dfrac{\bcancel {42}^7}{\bcancel{6}}}} \\\\\ \implies \sf{x=7}

Find the point-slope equation for the line that passes through the points (5, 35) and (-6, -31). Use the first point in your equ
AleksandrR [38]

Answer:

Maya, this is such a common question on here,  so i'm very interested in what's difficult about this problem for you.  Please comment about this. Below is the answer and how to find it.

Step-by-step explanation:

point P1 (5,35)  in the form (x1,y1)

point P2(-6,-31)  in the form (x2,y2)

slope = m

m = (y2-y1) / (x2-x1)

m = (-31-35) / (-6-5)

m = -66 / -11

they made it easy for you , huh

m = 6

use point / slope fomula,   y-y1 = m(x-x1)  and plug in one point,  either would work,  since i've already labeled it with point P1,  let's use that point

y-35 = 6(x-5)

y-35 = 6x-30

y = 6x - 30 + 35

y = 6x + 5

Maya, this really is a very common question on here,  I really am curious about what's tricky in the problem for you and many many others.  please let me know in comments section,  thanks  MMM

Janelle can walk 3 3/4 miles in 1 1/2 hours. at this rate how many miles can janelle walk in 4 hours
liberstina [14]
Set up a ratio 3 3/4 = 15/4 and 1 1/2 = 3/2 so
((15/4miles)  / (3/2hours)) = xmiles/4hours  solve for x
so x = 4hours*((15/4miles)/(3/2hours)) = x miles
the hours cancel and you are left with x miles = 10miles
