Answer:

B) a = 3, b = 3 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : (2xy)^{4} = 4x^{a} (y^{b})4xy.

To find : Which values of a and b make the equation true.

Solution : We have given that (2xy)^{4} = 4x^{a} (y^{b})4xy.

By exponential  same base rule :x^{n} x^{m} = x^{m+n} if base are same then power will be add.

2^{4} x^{4} y^{4} = 16x^{a+1} y^{b+1}.

Solving exponent

16x^{4} y^{4} =  16x^{a+1} y^{b+1}.

On equating x variable

x^{4} =  x^{a+1}.

By exponent rule : if x^{m} =  x^{n} then m =n.

So, 4 = a+1

On subtracting by 1 both sides

a = 3.

On equating y variable ,

4 = b+1

On subtracting by 1 both sides

b = 3 .

Therefore, B) a = 3, b = 3 .

(2xy)^4=4x^a(y^b)4xy
16x^4y^4=16x^(a+1)y^(b+1)
4=a+1 4=b+1
3=a 3=b

One number exceeds another by 5 the sum of the numbers is 37 . What are the numbers
Eduardwww [97]
One number = x
Another number = y

x = y + 5
x + y = 37

(y + 5) + y = 37
2y + 5 = 37
2y = 32
y = 16

x = (16) + 5
x = 21

The numbers are 16 and 21.

Michael cycled a distance of miles in hours. What is his cycling unit rate in miles per hour?Michael cycled a distance of miles
notka56 [123]

Answer:

The number of miles/the number of hours

Step-by-step explanation:

If the number of hours is not equal to 1, multiply the numerator and denominator by the inverse of the number of hours.

For example, 10 (miles)/2 (hours)

The inverse of 2 is 1/2, so --> the new equation is 10/2 * 1/2 / 1/2 or

10* 1/2 and 2 * 1/2

When multiplied out, this leads to 5/1 or 5 miles per hour

Find the value of z ANSWER IS NOT 12. NO LINKS OR SPAMS! THANK YOU!!!!!!
alexgriva [62]

Answer:

12√3

Step-by-step explanation:

sin 30 =1/2

sin30=a/24. sin=opposit side/Hypotenuse

a is the opposite side of 30

1/2=a/24

a=12

now take pythagoras theroem

24^2=z^2+12^2

576=z^2+144

z^2=576-144

z^2=432

z=√432

z=√144*3

z=12√3
