Answer:

x = 10

y = 40

Step-by-step explanation:

DE is a straight line so the sum of angles DBA and ABE is equal to 180

13x - 18 + 5x + 18 = 180 add like terms

18x = 180 divide both sides by 18

x = 10

Same rule applies when calculating value of y

3y - 52 + 2y + 32 = 180 add like terms

5y - 20 = 180 add 20 to both sides

5y = 200 divide both sides by 5

y = 40

Simplify the rational expression. state any restrictions on the variable. n^4-11n^2+30/n^4-7n^2+10
Andrej [43]
<span>For this case we have the following expression:
</span> \frac{n ^ 4-11n ^ 2 + 30}{ n ^ 4-7n ^ 2 + 10} &#10;&#10;
<span> We are going to make the following change of variables:
 </span>x = n ^ 2&#10;
 <span>Rewriting the expression we have:
 </span>\frac{(x ^ 2-11x + 30)}{(x ^ 2-7x + 10)} &#10;&#10;
 <span>Factoring the expression we have:
 </span>\frac{(x-5) (x-6)}{(x-5) (x-6)} &#10;
 <span>Canceling similar terms we have:
 </span>\frac{x-6}{x-2} &#10;
 <span>Returning the change we have:
 </span>\frac{n ^ 2-6}{n ^ 2-2} &#10;&#10;
<span> The resctrictions of the function are those that make the denominator equal to zero.
 We have then:
 </span>n ^ 2-2 = 0&#10;&#10;n = +/-  \sqrt{2} &#10;
<span> Answer:
 The simplified expression is:
 </span>\frac{n ^ 2-6}{n ^ 2-2}
 <span>The restrictions are:
 </span>n = \sqrt{2} &#10;
 n = -  \sqrt{2}

spayn [35]

Answer:

140 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

If the first time she dropped the ball was from 160 feet then the second time she dropped the ball is would bounce back up 80 feet.  The third time it would bounce 40 feet.  And the 4th time it would bounce 20 feet

So the total distance the ball traveled from the first time it hit the ground is 140 feet

I'm not 100% sure I understand the question but I tried
