Write the equation of a line perpendicular to y=0.25x-7 and passes through the point -6,8
horrorfan [7]

the equation of a line perpendicular to y=0.25x-7 and passes through the point (-6,8) is y=-4x+30

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to write equation of line perpendicular to y=0.25x-7 and passes through the point (-6,8)

Since the line y=0.25x-7 is in slope-inetercept form y=mx+b

the slope of line m = 0.25

As, the new line is perpendicular to the given line so, slopes of lines that are perpendicular are: slope = -1/slope1

So, slope will be -1/0.25 = -4

Now, finding y-intercept.

y=mx+b8=4(-6)+b\\8=-24+b\\b=8+24\\b=30

So, value of y-intercept b = 30

Now the equation of the required line having slope m= -4 and b =30 will be:

y=mx+b\\y=-4x+30

So, the equation of a line perpendicular to y=0.25x-7 and passes through the point (-6,8) is y=-4x+30

Calculate the size of each interior angle of a regular polygon with 14 sides
Ierofanga [76]

Answer:

154.285

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of the interior angles of a 14-gon = (14-2)*180 = 2,160 degrees. There are 14 vertexes (vertices) for a 14-gon. It is 'regular' so all these angles are equal. By dividing 2160 (sum of all angles) by 14 (total amount of angles) we can see how much each angle is worth. So the interior angle of each is 154.285 degrees.

Write a problem involving how much more Than and solve it. Explain how drawing a diagram helped you solve the problem
avanturin [10]
A very simple example problem to satisfy the required above is,
"John has 8 apples and 17 oranges. How much more oranges does John has than apple?"

To answer this item, one needs to subtract the number of apples from the number of oranges. This is as shown below,
     D = 17 - 8 = 9

The concept of "how much more than" is linked to finding the difference between the numbers.
