'RNA is transcribed and translated in the cytoplasm', 'transcription produces an mRNA ready for translation' and 'RNA is proofread for errors' occur in prokaryotes, whereas '5′ cap, 3' poly-(A) tail and RNA splicing' occur in eukaryotes.

The prokaryotic cells (e.g., bacterial cells) do not contain cell nuclei, thereby the messenger RNA (mRNA) must be transcribed and translated in the cytoplasm.

During prokaryotic transcription, the RNA transcript is proofread for errors. In bacteria, DNA polymerases proofread the transcript by using their 3’ → 5’ exonuclease activity.

In eukaryotic cells, RNA processing consists of several mechanisms:

  • A 7-methylguanosine cap (5′ cap) is added to the 5′ end of the precursor messenger RNA (pre-mRNA).

  • A 3' poly-Adenine (A) tail is added to the 3' end of the pre-mRNA.

  • Both the 5′ cap and 3' poly-(A) tail protect the RNA transcript from its degradation by exonucleases.

  • Eukaryotic RNA splicing consists of the removal of non-coding regions called 'introns' and subsequent splicing of the protein-coding regions called 'exons'.

Answer the questions plz
exis [7]

Answer:

1) A double Helix with complementary bases in the middle. The backbone is made of sugar and phosphates. The middle is bases

2) To hold the genetic info for the cell

3) To bring the genetic info from the nucleus to the ribosomes as DNA can't leave the nucleus

4) To bring amino acids to the ribosomes to help build a protein

5) A chain of amino acids held together by peptide bonds

6) Ribosomes

7) Because those are the bases that are complementary in DNA so they must be equal

8) It could lead to a mutation as it would cause the mRNA to code for a different amino acid and thus a different protein will be made

9) DNA is the blueprint for mRNA which will travel to the ribosomes and code for specific amino acids which will eventually build a protein

1. John observed bacteria at 100X under the oil immersion and then decided to go back to 40X
weeeeeb [17]

Answer:

The observed image will not be sharp

Explanation:

When 100x microscope objective lens is being used, light refraction in the air is enough high to produce image alterations. Image distortions can be minimized by immersion oil because this liquid has a higher refractive index than air. However, light refraction is not usually noticeable when using 4x, 10x and 40x objective lenses. Moreover, this image will not be sharp after putting oil on the slide and going back to the 40x objective, it is for that reason that the 40x is called 'high dry' lens. In consequence, it is required to clean the immersion oil off the 40x objective. In general, it is required to  to remove the oil and refocus off the slide and lens immediately after oil immersion (it can be done by using an oil-soluble solvent).
