Answer:

The correct option is A. Coal use in steam engines led to easier access to goods.

Explanation:

Coal is used in steam engines as a fuel. Coal is one of the cheapest source of energy and hence it has been serving mankind with various benefits since a long period of time.

The coal-based steam engines played a very important role in the developments made during the Industrial Revolution. Many industries started using coal as a power material and made progress.

The steam engines made it possible to transfer goods from one place to another very easily. As coal was a cheap source, hence trading of goods by steam engines was not very costly.

Explain why an egg is considered to be unicelular.
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

membrane and everything else inside is considered the cell, it can be said that it is a single cell. Then, the chicken egg deserves its reputation as the largest cell. If, however you consider the yolk and the albumen (the egg white), separate structures, then eggs are not a single cell.

Explanation:

Short answer: One ovum = one cell = single cell (Latin: unam cellulam), from which we get uni-cellular. ... The zygote resulting from a successful fertilization of a single egg cell (a living unicellular organism), by a single sperm cell (also a living unicellular organism), is also a living unicellular organism

Does peterson's solution to the mutual-exclusion problem shown in fig. 2-24 work when process scheduling is preemptive
Sloan [31]
Yes. Not only does Peterson's Solution work with preemptive scheduling, but it was designed for that very case. In fact, when scheduling is non-preemptive, there is a possibility it might fail. For example, in a case where 'turn' is initially 0, but process 1 runs first, it will loop perpetually, and never release the CPU.

Which equation satisfies the law of conservation of matter?
BartSMP [9]

Answer:

The correct answer is A. 3O₂ + 2Al → 2AlO₃

Law of conservation of mass states that mass can nether be created nor destroyed in a closed system or chemical reaction i.e. the total mass of the matter always remains the same throughout the chemical or physical change.

For example, in the given reaction 3O₂ + 2Al → 2AlO₃ the total mass of the reactants is equal to the total mass of the product.

Mass of oxygen = 16 x 3 = 48 AMU

Mass of aluminium = 2 x 27 = 54 AMU

Total molecular mass of the reactants = 102 AMU

Total molecular mass of the product = 2 x 27 + 6 x 8 = 102 AMU.

Hence, the total mass of the matter remains the same.
