Answer:

4. 10mn - 35m

5. 8rs - 2r² + 16r

6. -4 (y +2)

7. -5p (p - 6q)

Step-by-step explanation:

For number four you basically times 5m to 2n and since it has different variables it would be 10mn ( keep the letters in alphabetical order) , then 5m times negative 7 would be '-35m'

For number five, it wants you to pass through the sign so negative times a negative always gives a positive so '-2r' times '-4s' would equal to '8rs', then -2r times r gives out -2r² since remember there are two same variables-in this case it is 'r' so to show there is two 'r' you put 'r squared' which is 'r²' and negative times a positive value gives negative.

For number 6, you take the Highest common factor out of the two values and in number 6 it would be -4 since there is a factor of -4 in both '-4' and '-8'. So if you take the -4 out of the bracket, there would be 'y' left and also '+2' since there is already a negative outside the bracket.

For number 7, similar to 6, take out the GCF/HCF which is -5 as it is factors in both of them. So -5 out of the bracket then 'p²' would be left and also if you divide 30 by -5 it would give -6 so the remainder would be -6pq. But if you see, you might notice there is both p in two of them so you can also take the p out with -5.

I know this is pretty long but if you don't understand have a read through them and if you still don't get please tell me what I did wrong. Thx

Answer:

For Triangle 1

a. Hypothenus = 4

b. Adjacent = 2√3

For Triangle 2:

a. Hypothenus = 2√2

b. Adjacent = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

For Triangle 1

NOTE: We shall be using angle 30°.

a. Determination of the Hypothenus.

Opposite = 2

Angle (θ) = 30°

Hypothenus =?

Sine θ = Opposite /Hypothenus

Sine 30 = 2 / Hypo

0.5 = 2 / Hypo

Cross multiply

0.5 × Hypo = 2

Divide both side by 0.5

Hypo = 2 / 0.5

Hypothenus = 4

b. Determination of the Adjacent

NOTE: We shall be using angle 30°.

Opposite = 2

Angle (θ) = 30°

Adjacent =?

Tan θ = Opposite / Adjacent

Tan 30 = 2 / Adj

1 / √3 = 2 / Adj

Cross multiply

1 × Adj = 2 × √3

Adjacent = 2√3

For Triangle 2:

a. Determination of the Hypothenus.

Opposite = 2

Angle (θ) = 45°

Hypothenus =?

Sine θ = Opposite /Hypothenus

Sine 45 = 2 / Hypo

1 / √2 = 2 / Hypo

Cross multiply

1 × Hypo = 2 × √2

Hypothenus = 2√2

b. Determination of the Adjacent

Opposite = 2

Angle (θ) = 45°

Adjacent =?

Tan θ = Opposite / Adjacent

Tan 45 = 2 / Adj

1 = 2 / Adj

Cross multiply

1 × Adj = 2

Adjacent = 2

So, the sides you are going to be multiplying are opposite and adjacent. The trigonometric function is tangent. So it'll be Tan0
nadya68 [22]

Answer:

  54°

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiplication is not involved.

The trig relation that is concerned with the opposite and adjacent sides of an angle in a right triangle is the tangent relation:

  Tan = Opposite/Adjacent

  tan(θ) = 41/30

The value of the angle is found using the inverse tangent function:

  θ = arctan(41/30) ≈ 53.807°

The angle of elevation is about 54°.

_____

<em>Additional comment</em>

The mnemonic SOH CAH TOA is often used as a reminder of the relationship between right triangle sides and trig functions. The other two relations are ...

  Sin = Opposite/Hypotenuse

  Cos = Adjacent/Hypotenuse

For finding angles, the inverse trig relations are used. These can be called "arcsine," "arccosine," and "arctangent." They are often shown in functional form as (respectively) sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, and tan⁻¹. On a calculator, they are often "2nd" or "Shift" or "Alt" functions of the sin, cos, and tan keys.
