For number 6, you take the Highest common factor out of the two values and in number 6 it would be -4 since there is a factor of -4 in both '-4' and '-8'. So if you take the -4 out of the bracket, there would be 'y' left and also '+2' since there is already a negative outside the bracket.
For number 7, similar to 6, take out the GCF/HCF which is -5 as it is factors in both of them.
