The fourth alternative is correct (D).

Demand inflation occurs when demand for goods and services exceeds supply.

Let us assume an economy that has a rigid productive structure, that is, it can not increase production in the short term, only in the long run. If the economy goes through a monetary shock, as happens if the government prints and injects money into the economy, the excess money in the hands of consumers will increase the demand for the goods. However, as the productive structure does not support the increase in production, demand will be greater than supply and this will cause demand inflation.

Which of these in-text citations are formatted correctly
Oduvanchick [21]

Lidz, Franz. "Revenge of the Vikings." Smithsonian 1 Mar. 2014 44-49. Print.

The correct citation for a Works Cited page begins with the author's name, last name first. Then the title of the article. After the title of the periodical followed by the date and page numbers. In most Works Cited entries, the author's last name is first followed by the title. Just knowing this gets us to the correct answer immediately.

FYI - These are not in-text citations. An in-text citation for this source would be (Lidz 45), if the information was found on page 45.

Neko [114]

Answer:

(A) If a book was published in the past 150 years and is historically insignificant, it will probably deteriorate completely.

Explanation:

This is the overall idea of the passage. Initially, the author explains how these books deteriorate themselves and then explains how this can be avoided. Finally, he/she presents the idea that there are techniques to prevent some books from completely deteriorating, but the process of deacidification will only be implemented to books which have historical significance.

In which set of lines in this excerpt from T.S. Eliot's "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" does the speaker compare himself t
Serga [27]

Answer:

"And when I am formulated, sprawling on a pin,

When I am pinned and wriggling on the wall,

Then how should I begin

To spit out all the butt-ends of my days and ways?"

Explanation:

Oh, this poem is so good..

I've selected the portion in the poem when the narrator uses metaphor to compare himself to an insect. In this part, he asks what will happen when he is "pinned and wriggling," like a butterfly or beetle that's pinned to a bug collection. Eliot uses this so artfully, my nerd hackles are raised. He's asking -- when I am helpless, uncomfortable, and all my deepest self is exposed -- how shall I explain myself, and who shall I be then?
