Hyposecretion of antidiuretic hormone (ADH)
Diabetes insipidus is a condition caused by low secretion of antidiuretic hormone or insensitivity to the effects of antidiuretic hormone by the pituitary gland. A child with diabetes insipidus experiences polydipsia and chronic thirst which is eased by taking very cold drinks such as water followed by marked polyuria (urine output that exceeds 3 litres per day). Other symptoms of this condition include fever, anorexia, weakness, headache and seizures.

Diabetes insipidus (as the opposite of mellitus diabetes) is a disease characterized by excessive thirst and the excretion of large amounts of highly diluted urine, which can not be reduced by a reduction in fluid intake. The reduction of water intake does not increase the concentration of urine.

Diabetes insipidus is due to a deficiency of antidiuretic hormone (ADH, which increase water reabsorption from the collector tubule to keep it in the body) or insensitivity of the kidneys to this hormone. It can be of iatrogenic origin. It is called insipidus because there is no sugar in the urine (doctors tasted urine before the development of medical biology techniques).

How is carbon transferred from the biosphere to the hydrosphere?
pantera1 [17]

Answer:

Animal and plant respiration place carbon into the atmosphere. When you exhale, you are placing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Plants use carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to make the building blocks of food during photosynthesis. Carbon is found in the hydrosphere dissolved in ocean water and lakes.

Human ABO blood type is controlled by the I locus and has three possible alleles. The alleles which code for type A blood (IA) a
Oxana [17]

Answer:

1/8 (12.5 %)

Explanation:

Cross: IAi X IAIB

F1: 1/4 IAIA 1/4 IAIB 1/4 IAi 1/4 IBi

Phenotypes:

- IAIA and IAi >> type A blood

- IBi >> type B blood

- IAIB >> type AB blood

Phenotypic frequency type A blood: 1/2 (i.e., 1/4 IAIA + 1/4 IAi) >>

Probability to have 3 offspring with type A blood: 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/8

The human ABO blood group is a system consisting of there different alleles: A, B, and O. This system is used in genetics as an example of codominance because both A and B alleles are expressed in heterozygous individuals (i.e., IAIB), whereas only the allele A is expressed in individuals that have A and O alleles (since O allele is recessive to the A and B alleles).
